WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: Peacefully grant the State of Louisiana to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government.

As the founding fathers of the United States of America made clear in the Declaration of Independence in 1776:

"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."

"...Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and institute new Government..."

They have got around 10k signatures of te 25k needed. I assume at that number it gets viewed by Congress and the president. Couldn't be wrong. I'm not sure if this was started by the state or a right wing nutjob (probably the nutjob).

I thought it was interesting.
 
It's random reactionary yahoos that file petitions lite that on behalf of their states, not the states themselves.

And it's not only Louisiana. Also Texas, Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Colorado, Oregon and New York. There are pockets of crazy everywhere.
 
I say let em go and send some of the debt with em. Upkeep on Louisiana has been too much lately. :rolleyes:

It will probably get the response of...the state government must petition the federal government on this position.
 
Of all the other states wanting to leave, Louisiana has the most signatures. The others all have less then 2000.
