Seriously though, George Lucas should take notes on how to make an Epic Adventure film.
At times the action does diverge wildly from the text of the book, but that shouldn't come as a surprise this time, if you saw the original movie. The range of emotion that the animatronic Smeagol-Gollum character was able to express was amazing ... As was Gandalf's battle with the thing* from Khazad-dûm (in case some idiot saw the first movie, but has never read the books, I am being specifically vague).
