Lost

I'm waiting for someone in the sideways timeline to be aware of both timelines. Desmond might be a perfect "candidate" for that.

Oh, that would be perfect. But what about Mr. Candidate? Wouldn't he be a more likely suspect? And isn't Jacob aware of all timelines? Wait, did he create all the timelines? Dear god (Jacob), this may be too much for my brain to process. I've only had one cup of coffee.

With everything that happens, Jacob still seems to be in control, like it will workout the way he plans or thinks it should.

I hate this fucking show now. What makes it worse, much worse, is that I can no longer stop myself from watching, either.

its almost over....I pray for a grand final show, not like these other finals, and you know who they are...

Do people think Mr Eko will pop up in the 'no-crash' timeline.

I can't shake off the idea that he and his carved staff are more imprtant than they have seemed.

But how many shows can you honestly list that were above average in regards to their finales?

I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Was he killed by the Man in Black because he was too aware or on to something? He did tell Locke he was next.

Still not sure if at that time Smoky was acting on his own or was controlled. The whole Ben being able to summon it and send it after the Mercenaries.

Not many. Mary Tyler Moore. Newhart. Cheers. But ending sitcoms is easy, especially because they most always have run years past their prime. I could watch Lost for another ten years.

There haven't been many shows like Lost that have kept a consistent story going for years, and have promised so much for a finale. In all of TV history, you could count on one hand the shows that have spread so many clues and made knowing the mythology so vital to watching the show.

I didn't watch Battlestar Galactica, but from what I've read, the fans felt that the ending didn't come close to satisfying the build-up.

I hope for the best.

BTW - I thought the ending of The Sopranos was perfect. Just perfect.

And why was Smoky rampaging around like a dinosaur for the first few days after the 815 gang crashed? And why did he kill the pilot?

Thats debatable, MASH was a good final, Seinfeld, no, Six Feet Under, yes, The L Word, no, Cheers, Yes, thats all I can think of at the moment. I don't expect Lost to give the audience what it wants....why are they even shutting down the show in the first place??

I'm right there, too. I think he has some sort of significance, I just can't figure out what it is. Will his brother be entangled in that, too?

Exactly. The behaviour of the Smoke Monster has been eratic at best. Not sure they will even explain it in the end.

BSG was alright, but thats a good example, people just expect more. I tend to think of the X-Files in comparison but what was really the finale?

tonight...

"Sundown"
Sayid faces a difficult decision; Claire sends a warning to the temple inhabitants.

Can.

Not.

Wait.

!!!

By the way, doesn't it make you mad to know that at this moment, the final episodes of LOST are written somewhere on a couple of sheets of paper. Can't wait to see how it all works out in the end. And I seriously hope this one does not get spoiled on the net, b/c I don't know whether I'd be strong enough not to look.

I heard last week that Matthew Fox is the only member of the cast who has been told how the show ends. Leads you to believe Jack will be in the middle of whatever happens.

Right there with ya! I have a bunch of half-baked conspiracy theories for tonight's episode. I might have to get into my jammies early to contemplate. Ha.

And agreed, Yogi. Jack has been central from episode 1. I don't doubt the end will center around him, too. Christian Shepherd figures in there somewhere, too.

If everyone is indeed happier in the sideways timeline, maybe its heaven or the afterlife. I know in the past some have suggested that the island was Purgatory.

Is Kate really happy in the sideways timeline? For all we know she's still on the run. Nothing really changed for the good for her.

How can she be happy unless *drumroll* maybe she's the ying to Jack's yang?

Plus her involvement with Claire.... hmmmm.....

I still wanna see who the mother of Jack's kid is.

I wondered if the kid might have a passing resemblance to the Widmore lineage.

Thinking around candidates I can only come up with three in the right age range. Penny would be one of them , and some tie in between Widmore and Jack's dad wouldn't be such a shock. . Juliet (also a doctor so contact not unlikely) , and maybe Rousseau if they wanted to be really weird.

Then again , would Anna Lucia manage to fit the age constraints.
How about Charlotte . Then there would be an island tie in connecting Jack's kid back to the island .

re' connections...I think the piece the kid played at the audition was Chopin Fantaisie-Impromptu , we also saw the sheet for it in his room. I have a feeling that was the same piece Daniel Farraday played in an episode where his mother warned him off the piano. Two piano 'prodigies' seems a little coincidental.

btw,,, I am one episode behind here , so ignore anything already explained by what you have seen , but still in my post. I am playing dodge the spoiler.

sometimes this programme is like televisual acid.
You start with a small idea , next thing you know your brain has king kong climbing the eiffel tower dressed in a pink toga... and the problem is it almost makes sense.

televisional acid ^^^

Shamanskiss pegged it well

my bad, televisual acid... either either I know what you mean...

Not only that, but when else do I get to see a Tati post in here.

I so wanna take her by the hand and ask what she thinks about the new Dancing With the Stars "dancers" but I won't.

But boy do I wanna...

Right you are, it was pointed out in the enhanced replay tonight, good catch. Also found it funny that with all the Alice In Wonderland references, Jack uses a key to get into his ex-wifes house that was hidden under a ceramic rabbit.

Good episode tonight. I gotta stop reading the opening credits, because I totally expected Martin Keamy to show up in the sideways timeline. It's becoming even clearer as we go along that everyone is just pawns, being manipulated for the two main players. Is Dogen dead or will he wake up in 2 hours like Sayid did? I'm not sure where "Locke" and the others go now. Is there a different way off the island now or do you still have to go the usual route, the wheel.

I've been thinking lately that perhaps the whole Jacob-Good/Evil Locke-bad thing might not be all we think it is. What if Jacob isn't the good one?

And I'm also having issues because as of 3/7/10 @12:00am, Cablevision is going to drop ABC. This is not going to sit well with me. At all. (And watching it on abc.com is usually filled with issues due to my slow running computer.)

I'm wondering now, too, if Jacob's really the evil one, too. I wish they'd hurry up and tell us. I did make note of the conversation in last night's episode about good and evil and the scale that balances them. Remember when Locke 2.0 went into the cave with Sawyer and tossed the white rock out into the water, leaving the black rock on the scale? Hmmm. Was that him crushing Jacob's power? Or was that him embracing his evilness?

More Small Questions:
Anyone catch the words of that song Claire was sing-songing in that crazy little voice while trapped in that hole the Candidate Guards (fun little nickname I just assigned them) put her in? And was it the same song that was playing -- sort of a whimsical, lilting tune -- after Sayid went total apeshit crazy? I thought it sounded ... familiar. For some reason my mind went back to the first appearance of the Hatch and the record collection that flashed as Desmond pulled that album out and put it on the turntable.

Who were those villagers with the pitchforks at the end following Locke 2.0 in his little parade? Where the hell did they come from? I love how the island just magically spits up new characters. *Who are these people?*

 I heart you!

I'm not happy with the new line up of D list celebs...but I am curious to see how Kate Gosslin does, and I also wonder how they are going to keep Pam Anderson's boobs from popping out of those skimpy costumes!
