apparently I have just lost all ability to attract girls. Granted, I am new to the area and have no family or friends, just the folks that I work with, and I only met them when I got here two weeks ago, but still..

ok, perhaps I am just being whiny cause I am in a new place and do not know anyone. Starting from scratch is definately an interesting place to be.

at one point in my life making friends and girls was not difficult, boy are those days long gone...

I'm sure you'll be beatin' the babes off with a stick soon enough - charm, charisma and a pretty good sense of humor far outweigh a little whinyness any day. Besides find a girl that works at a grocer and she might offer you some cheese to go with your whine (wine).
