I read a humor website called Cracked.com. And while reading one of the articles, there was a link to a white supremacy website. (they back up all of their research with links, some of the information they put in their site is hard to believe)

The woman who started the thread on Stormfront said that she was ashamed about it, but before she became 'racially aware' she dated an asian man for eight months.

There were sixty-three pages after that. I glanced through a few of them. The opinions ranged everywhere from 'it's okay as long as you learned your lesson and didn't have children' to 'asians are worse then negroes, because they are insidious and no one realizes how much of a threat they are to the white race' to 'get the fuck off of this site, you are no longer racially pure'

I have lost faith in humanity, again.

P.S. it was pretty disturbing in another way, the format was exactly like Lit, same smilies, same color, same everything, only fewer boob-avatars and a lot more hatred.

Loss of Faith can be a good thing

You'll probably revert into having faith in humanity once again, which is sad, because so long as you have faith in humanity someone is going to do something like this, and you'll have to lose and find your faith all over again.

My advice: use this opportunity to change your view of humanity. Don't have faith in it. That way, when people act like this you won't be bitterly disappointed, and when they act nobly you'll be pleasantly surprised.

As awful and ignorant as those comments are, remember one thing.

The right that gives us the ability to come on here and publicly spout out whatever we want, as well as express ourselves through our stories, is the same right that they have to express their opinions.

Do I agree with them? No. I don't judge by gender, sexual preference, or color, I think there are good and bad in all.

But they have the right to post their comments and to sit around and chat about their distasteful subjects. As long as it stays as words, they are within their rights.

But yes, it is disheartening that that level of ignorance and fear and hatred still exist, but that's also why humans are not the superior beings we think we are, it's actually what in my opinion makes mankind one of the lower life forms on earth. In general people suck.

People on the other hand are prone to run as packs of wild mindless animals incapable of seeing past anything but the need to put down another pack in order to make themselves feel good.

I read that website too..didn't see this link, but I know Stormfront is a bigotry and hatred organization...don't lose your faith in all of humanity because these groups of hate filled people exist..humanity is capable of both some of the cruelest, violent, selfish behavior...and some of the kindest, generous, most loving and giving, selfless behavior...I know it's difficult to remember that when faced with the hatred...but you have to try..because this is the only world we've got, and we have to make the most of living in it

Considering how the Caps are playing lately, and how I've been sick for 2+ weeks, it's amazing I'm still on the half-full side.

Seriously, I think most people are decent. They want to be happy, they want their kids to be happy, they want to be decent people. The ones that don't tend to be the ones who get attention and so we hear about them.

For years I maintained that 90% of men were decent sorts and that was the other 10% that gave the rest of us a bad name. At a Reserve Training a captain and her sergeant firmly put paid to that notion. They stated in no uncertain terms that 60% of all men were jerks and that finding one of the remaining 40% was something a woman should consider a significant accomplishment. I am abashed.

Well., to be fair, I'm not so sure most women can be ruled out as being all that admirable given how many of them seem to go for the jerks I'd say that you should consider it a significant accomplishment if you've found a woman who who wisely chose you instead of a jerk.
