Well after finally getting my tags and title transfered back to florida from virginia and doing over a grande worth of work to my truck. it seems it decided to die today.

Why is it that vehicles never give up the ghost until you've invested the down payment on a new one into them?

now I get to pay the tax tag and title all over again on a new vehicle. yay.

That sux! I would be shit out of luck cause i wouldnt have been able to put the grand into it in the first place.

Im pretty screwed too.
Im draining my ira (and the govt is screwing me on taxes) to buy my new car. waiting for taxi to take me to the damn auto lot because my truck is dead.

What do you need a pick-up for anyway? You hauling horses and hay bales?

Ive always liked trucks, its what I have now.
I might buy a motorcycle I havent had one of those in a while.
anything I can afford at the moment sounds good.

and a bike is out of the question considering its a 20 minute drive to work. if work was within 5 miles of me Id use a bike. though.

I feel your pain!

My truck has had about $500 worth of work on it in the last two weeks and we stopped when we found out it could use another $500 worth! Went new vehicle shopping instead. I should be driving a new Jeep in the next week or two. I'll miss my big suburban (for some things) but will enjoy that new convertible top on the Jeep alot!

Im thinking of buying lots of things actually,

I can
A. Completley drain my IRA and take it on the chin from uncle sam. but have about 23k left over
use that money on a down payment on something very very nice
B. Completley drain IRA take it on the chin, and buy something middlin decent use rest of ira money and buy a new boat.
C. Pump my IRA for just enough of a down payment for a good car.

Im kinda indecissive.

These kinds of decisions

make me glad my truck is running enough to get a little bit out of a trade in on it! The blue book value for the way it is now is only about $3,000 - $4,000! but it's better than nothing! Good thing it's still running!
