Looking for Story Title or Author

Several months ago I was reading a multi part story about a combat vet who goes to university and is dormed with Provost Daughter. Involved womans rowing team and Hockey. His university had Memorial Statue of his parents and himself. His family is in politics. Anybody have idea of the Title or Author?
