What do you think of this? A young couple (let's make them both 18 yo) is about to have sex, but they realize they have no condoms. They go out to buy some, but a series of unbelievable incidents keeps preventing them from doing so. Meanwhile, everywhere around them, everybody seems to be going at it like crazy, which makes them hornier and hornier.

Feels like a teen rom-com I know I've seen before but I can't place it.
Obviously minus the gratuitous sex but there's definitely condom treasure hunts movies out there.

In real world birth control and STD prevention, not nearly as well as proper protection.
In the story, would they apply oil to the saran wrap? Otherwise it sounds painful. At least to me. Not that I've ever had a vagina, so I can't be sure.

I was never so unlucky/unprepared as to need to try.
Lube makes sense. I know plenty of older generations swore by olive oil. New hippies love them some coconut oil.
Again, these are all "has been tried" not best practices.
We don't always have to show safe sex/best practices in our fiction but we should know what they are.

I have NO idea. But I remember when - and may have this post booted - as a wee sprout sitting in a school library. Reading a magazine - don't recall what it was. Look? Life? Whatever. Condom's, as we have seen in that classic F*R*I*E*N*D*S episode, only work 97% of the time. (97% NOT 100%.)

In my personal opinion, that would not feel overly fulfilling for me. I suppose if it was well written I’d be into it. My preference would be for bare sex.

Absolutely agree. I only had one pregnancy scare, and it was my first time because we started without. She ended up being slightly late and we were just paranoid. It's honestly a miracle I never broke one, used the wrong size for years.
