I'll start by saying that my story, "The Loners", posted on this site will tell you a lot about myself as a writer, the style I use, the type of mistakes I make, and so forth.
I also acknowledge that "The Loners" can be considered a long series, and my next two stories are going to be long as well. So, I'll understand if many do not wish to edit stories of great length, because such work requires a lot of time, time not everyone has.
The first of the two stories is "Dream Maker". For those who know the Armored Core series, you will probably feel right at home with "Dream Maker", in which I use an Armored Core type universe.
The story takes place in the future where governments have collapsed, and replaced with large corporations that fund their own private armies which they use to wage war and gain power. Another faction that plays a central role in the story is the independent mercenary organization known as the 'Blood Hounds'.
The story follows Daniel Hartman, an adopted child and a bit of a naive idealist, and his machine, 'Dream Maker'.
Dream Maker in the story is what many would call an AC (Armored Core for short), a mobile suit, or a Mech, which is what I went with. Dream Maker, however, is revolutionary in this story, because it is the first Mech which is powered by a fusion core, making a huge difference in it's capablities which includes it's engines, shields, and energy weapons.
Unfortunately, having such power at one's fingertips can create more problems than it can solve.
However, "Dream Maker" has gone kind of dry lately, and I haven't been able to continue it since completing the first eight chapters. I would like to get this story going again, because I like the concept and characters so far, and I have a general idea of what I want to do, but this story kind of needs direction at the moment.
Now the second story, "An Anime Nerd's wish" has been much of the focus of my attention.
I'll go ahead and say this straight away as well, I'm a huge anime fan, some of which was reflected in "The Loners".
"An Anime Nerd's Wish" is the story of Tom, an ordinary nerdy high schooler who's down on his luck, and through extreme circumstances, encounters 'God'. Now 'God' in this story is not like the normal God that so many are familiar with. The 'God' in this story more closely resembles the 'God' of Full Metal Alchemist. (In this case, I'm talking about the original story of Full Metal Alchemist, not the one that was written for the first anime that was done for this series in which the main villian was Dante.)
After exchanging a few words, Tom is sent back to the real world with powers.
Those powers? Taken straight from Full Metal Alchemist, Bleach, and Naruto. I like to think of this story as my answer to the question of 'what if powers and abilities in anime became real?'
If anyone is interesting in editing either of these two stories, or just simply want a more detailed description before making a decision, just let me know.
Whether you are interested or not, thanks for at least taking the time to read this post.
