Hello,
my name is Tim and I am a devoted member of Literotica's sister site www.chyoo.com. Most of you will not know what Chyoo is, so I will tell you. Chyoo stands for CHoose YOur Own story. Each story consists of threads, mainly averaging from 300 - 500 words. First there is the introduction thread and it builds the basis of the story then at the end of it there will be a continuing question and a set of options. The stories are interactive which means the reader chooses the path they wish to follow, or they can create their own path by writing a thread and submitting it to the stories editor. The editor will approve or reject the thread. If it is approved it will apear in the story as an option for you and others to follow on.

I have written 150 threads and am the editor of two stories. To become an editor you simply have to create a story and have it approved by the site moderators. Chyoo is a great site and it is free. Our number of members isn't as high as here but we are a high little community. Through our discussion boards we help each other out with our stories and such.

This leads me to the reason I am writing this. I have been a member of the Chyoo site since July 2002 and in the message forums I've posted over 100 posts. There is a forum for site feed back. It was created for the members to post their thoughts and tell the moderators what wasn't working and what needs to be fixed. As well as other sugestions to make the site better. Over the many months I've noticed a lot of common errors and have posted in the feedback forum as many other members have. There are general problems with the site that make it extremely fraustrating at times. I have saw new members just give up because of the complexities caused by the problems.

I have come to Literotica looking for the site Moderators. Since July 2002 I have never saw any type of feedback from the moderators and the members of Chyoo are becoming disapointed. We have expressed our opinions and feedback many times and never recieved any word from the moderators. Manu is the main moderator of the site according the the website. We would like to know if our posts are being read by the person in control of it. And if anything is being changed. We only want a little feedback. I think I speak for most the the members.

On the Chyoo site I am going to post this message for the members there to read. Also, I am going to encourage them to come to the Literotica message board and post their support for this.

In conclusion, we enjoy Chyoo and would like to help to make the site better. We only need an ear to listen to our voices.

Yeah! Fight the power Tim.

No taxation without representation!

(Then again, Chyoo is free so there'e no taxation to begin with.)

I was looking for interactive story sites with a web search over a year ago and found CHYOO listed. I took a look and I liked it. From there I drifted onto LIT itself and liked that too, yes I support CHYOO and enjoy posting additions to stories there.:)

I have to admit, that while the idea is a good one, I just don't personally get it.

I'd recommend some of our best-loved users for a Chyoo Moderator's assignment:

Killswitch
Hanns_Schmidt
Chilled Vodka
Yayati
Ishmael
Sunstruck
Lavender
Glamorilla
Gusty_wind
~Dream~

Each of them would make a fine candidate in their own right, something I'm sure most everyone will agree with. As they are all very modest, I'd suggest that you cross post this item to Chyoo, recommending that everyone PM them frequently to ask them to consider the task.

Chyoo! (Bless you.)

But

we don't want to pressure anyone into writing if they don't want to.
It's very fun and great practice, but it's definately a small commitment.

But everyone is welcome to come on over! Especially if you can write...not even write good erotica, all you really have to do is have a good idea and present it well in the introduction, and if you want to stop writing at that point other people will submit threads for you to approve or reject. :)

Just bringing Chyoo to the top!

Hello,
with great power comes great responsibilities. With that said, anybody willing to take on the task of being the site moderator would have to be somebody who is appointed by Laurel or Chyoo. They would need a knowledge of HTML and other things that make the site tick. I assume it is a huge job but even a part-time moderator would be better than one that is never around.

I look forward to hearing more. Also, Literotica is a great site. I love your forums very much. You have a wider worldly view on topics.

Senior "poster" to CHYOO

I have been a visitor / member of the CHYOO community since it's inception within Literotica. I used to write and post to the "old" interactive site, and was pleasantly impressed with the way CHYOO was implemented.

I remember reading in a Literotica newsletter many months ago, that "changes" were coming down the pike for CHYOO. It even mentioned some clever new ideas, and some incorporation of features from the "old" interactive site. The changes never came!

It didn't stop us though! We kept plugging! Even though the site has some inherent problems that are always associated with "infant" sites, we have found workarounds and "loopholes".

The frustration with a core group of members is that no one is responding to our emails, our threads, or our requests for someone ("in command") to say "Hi! I'm here! I read your comment! You're right / wrong! We're working on that! We don't have the resources to do that! We will try to put this in a future release.", etc...

All we really want is for someone to say "YES! You too, are a part of the Literotica Community!"

Please respond!

Thanks!

What do I get from that? I'm too tired of doing dog's bollocks work for free.

Hello... is anybody out there?

Hello,
I have been checking this thread from new updates and still am unsatisfied with the result. I would like to see one of two names to post a reply. One being Manu (the supposed site moderator) and the other being Laurel. I shall keep waiting.

In response to an earlier post... I feel that if anybody is going to be responsible for Chyoo it shouldn't be a prominent member of Lit. It should be a Chyoo leader. It should be somebody the members of Chyoo believe will do his or her best to work with the site. Chyoo is a small community right now and to take on the responsibility of moderator would not require a lot of time.

With the above said I would like to see Chyoo members come up with a list of possible candidates for the job. Why do you think would be a good moderator? Maybe somebody would like to take the reins. All we need to do after we find such a person is get in contact with Manu or Laurel and work something out. The two might totally oppose the idea. Then again maybe they will pay more attention to Chyoo. The Lit site must be about 150 times bigger than Chyoo. And Lit still some contact with the moderators, why can't we?

Are we the forgotten one?

-Tim (niceguy2002tim)

hell a moderator that stops by just to say hi would be an improvment

So uh.. have you attempted to contact them rather than post messages?

If you don't want a Moderator from the Lit Boards....why are you advertising here?

We have to advertise the fact here as we have been talking about this issue over on the chyoo boards for months with out a single response from the people in charge. We have no other choice than to come the literotica boards as this is where the people in charge actually make there presence known.

Just the slightest acknowledgement from the operaters that they are paying attention to chyoo is what we are looking for. And from the response to our questions at chyoo, they are not.
