I'm sure you will...having the big 4-0 just on the horizon doesn't help much, I know...I hit the big 5-0 this year and it was a tough one...but I got over it, too...

I would never put someone I had just met down and say something I thought they wouldn't get- that would be just too rude. Now, after I had known you for a while, I would not hesitate to pull something like that. But, we should be friends first, and you should have already been exposed to my skewed sense of humor.

Carp, I know it might not be easy to go out to places, especially if you have to go alone. But there are other options.
This online world is a great place to meet people and make friends. Take advantage of it. You don't even have to worry about wether you should of worn the blue shirt or the white shirt. Wether you're having a good hair day or a bad hair day. Nobody cares, nobody knows. All people care about is the real you, who you are inside.
If you want to meet people close to home just find a thread where people in your state go. Those threads sometimes have get togethers where you can have a chance to meet everyone in person. Maybe you'll click with someone and friendship will turn into something more.

Yesterday was just a yucky day. This too shall pass, I know.
I do get out- after I got divorced, I realized that I spent all my free time bouncing around inside my house, so I took up bowling, and used that to reconnect with some old friends. That has been good (bowling, not so good- my handicap is up 38 pins from last year. Ouch) The women I meet in bars have, to this pont, not been my type. I did the internet dating thing for a while, but being unwilling to present myself as something other than what I am, had little success with that (ads that read- "Normal, loving, caring, compassionate guy, with many passions, seeks same" don't tend to attract a lot of attention. So, I have moved on from that, and probnably won't go back. Finding a new soulmate is a long process. I'm just ready for it to be over, and was feeling sorry for myself yesterday. Maybe I just need to masturbate more
