Maybe it is just me, but when I login and go to a page - I initially am told I am not logged in. By trial and error I find that if I look at a different page and go back to the one I wanted - I am logged in!
Is there an explanation?

It's been doing this ever since the site upgrade last year. There seems to be a problem with cookie management, especially between the stories and forum sides of the fence. Navigating into the forum is - for me - somewhat unpredictable as to which display preference I'm going to get. I have to do the same thing, flip back and forth and/or refresh to put things in order.

I have found that, when I log on at the forum, after I enter my username and password and hit enter, it brings up the screen that has the log on tab still visible. If I will go to the tab for the forum and select "new entries", it immediately brings it up and shows me as logged on

Try logging out of the site, delete all the cookies relating to Lit in the browser preferences, maybe even restart the browser then log in again. It might be that legacy cookies conflict with newer ones and all that techy jazz

I wish it were that simple. I clear cookies (for everybody!) every time I quit the browser and LitE still has this strange behavior. Once I get past the little bit of back-and-forth on log-in, it's a shoulder-shrug, a "live with".

There is a delay in the web servers before you are completely logged in.

This happens to me when I log in to the regular site and then try to move over to the forums. All I do is refresh the page and I'm logged in.
