Log In Problem--SOLVED THX

I cleared my computer's cookies, thinking it would speed my computer up (which I am not certain it did.)

Now, any time I on on Lit but don't do something for several minutes -- say, when I am composing a post on my computer -- I have to log in again.

Is this related to the cookie thing, or purely coincidental?

Is there a fix? I want to remain logged in at all times so I can get real time notifications of PMs, etc.

Help

Click the "remember me" option when you log in.

I think that's what it's called. Something like that.

Thanks

Will try that. I am certain it will keep me off sometime soon

Yeah, when you log in there's a checkbox that says 'remember me'. Also make sure that your computer is saving cookies.

As for speeding up your computer, I recommend running CCleaner (crapcleaner) to remove all of the excess fiddly junk that gets in the background, as well as a scan with Spybot Search and Destroy. Check your startup and make sure there's not extra programs starting up that you don't need running in the background... sometimes programs you install can sneak into the background. Uninstall programs you don't need. Checking your processes in the task manager can really show you what's taking up the computer speed. For me it's usually Opera and Photoshop at the top, with my virus programs second in command. Usually if I'm running slow, it's because I have a pile of tabs open and/or a lot up in Photoshop. iTunes likes to sneak a few processes in, and so does Adobe, and I find disabling these adds a bit of speed. (I'm not really sure what these are... updaters or whatever... but they don't hurt my computer at all to turn them off.)

In general, clearing your cookies will not speed up your browsing. Clearing your cache, however, will help... however, at the cost of removing saved data from websites, which can be used to load them up quicker.

The checkbox remembers your username and password, it doesn't actually keep you logged in.

I had this problem. I've found that if you log in via the boxes at the top of forum pages, you only remain logged in while you're active. Leaving one page open or taking time to type out a post results in you being logged out.

The only fix I've found for this is to go to the story index (linked on the literotica.com home page) and click to log in there. Once you do that, you remain logged in until you log yourself out.

I don't know why this is but I do know that it should fix your problem.

It keeps me logged in on this computer.

Your browser may be set to clear cookies every time you close it or periodically, so you might want to check into that because the remember me box should keep you logged in as long as the Lit cookie is in place.
