My thoughts on an equal living wage.

Well to me its just plain silliness to suggest that everyone be all alloted an equal share of the the money pie.

I believe it would be the downfall of any nation.

Why do I think this.

Well first of all if everyone is all going to get the same amount of money, then what is the point of education? Why bother trying to study to improve yourself if your efforts are not going to be rewarded. Hell why bother having any post school education?

If bettering yourself with education isn't going to be rewarded why educate yourself as all. If a person with a grade one education is going to get the same as a person who went to school 12-15 years to be a brain surgeon why try why struggle sit back and enjoy. If a person with a grade one education is going to get paid the same a a person with 4-10 of legal school to be a lawyere why try.

Equal wages will breed a lazy nation, lazyier than even exists currently.

People will stop bothering to even try. Professional careers will eventual die away to old age and retirement with no one to refill the growing postions due tot he fact that they can get the same money without trying.

The way for a nation to grow bigger, stronger, wealthyier is to promote rewards for efforts. you study so long, work this hard excell to this level you can expect this much as a reward. Progress further and earn more. so on and so forth. Individuals striving for empowerment and individuality cause competition. Competiton breeds growth. Growth begets strentgh.

Come on, you at least read and reply to that other feller, what about me, not good enough for your scorn.

For the sheer joy of gaining knowledge.

I vote for a living wage enough for the bare essentials of life, with individuals paying for luxuries through paid employment.

Who would determine what is a living wage? If you pay fast food workers 12.00 pr hour, you would have to charge more for fast food meals. Would you pay 7.50 for a Big Mac? I sure wouldnt! :)

Along the same thoughts as well as who dictates this living wage?

Who dictates what is a necessity and what is a luxury?

What then becomes of education? If I can get the same for pumping gas as I can for being a Brain surgeon, a politicioan, a lawyer, a fireman why biother wasting so many years of study and effort. I am quite lazy you know, If I can get the same wage for doing relatively nothing compared to someone risking thier life and working hard why wouldn't I take advantageof that.
