Hey...do any of you guys use livejournal? Do you find yourself using a "real" journal less often? What do you think of it? Do you censor yourself at all b/c someone could be reading it? And lastly, if you have one, what's your handle?

I'm curious to know who I know who does it...

I imagine it's an online journal. Kinda like a guest book, but only you can update it. You go online, write, save and leave. Others can look and comment, which could help to refine your writing skills (if the feedback were serious. Lot's of dipshits on the web, ya know).

I keep with an old-fashioned notebook for a journal. I don't write as often as I should, but when I write, I WRITE!

LJ

Livejournal's an online journaling site (as per the name and all that), sort of like Blogger. Many users, each with their own name(s), and then there's communities and such for everything under the sun. Incidentally, you can make it as public or private as you like; so that everyone can read any individual entry, or just your friends, or only some of them, or just yourself. As such, you can use it for anything from posting insipid quizzes and those surveys that I imagine are still floating around email as well, to analyzing your deepest thoughts and secrets.

I like it, personally, as evidenced by my paid account (not the one linked in my sig).

one LiveJournal addict here...

Me!

I use LiveJournal both for personal journalling and posting my writing. I do not keep a paper journal so much unless I am away from a computer (rare!) and I absolutely do not censor what I write or who I am. In my writing journal, the feedback from readers has been a tremendous source of inspiration. Sure, having all those people tell me I'm great and all that does contribute to my fat head :D but their support also pushes me to write better and better.

I use Livejournal. Never did keep a written diary before -- I know, I know, all writers are supposed to -- but I find that I do post to my LJ at least a couple of times a week.

Most of the time, despite the comment feature, I forget that anybody could find and read it. Like my relatives, for instance! ;)

I use blurty. Found it through Literotica's home page. Ragden, livejournal looks a lot like blurty or vice versa, like KillerMuffin said. I wonder if there's any difference in the service.

My handle on blurty is (whisper whisper whisper). :D

Blurty runs the LiveJournal server code so most of it does look the same. But other than that, they are not linked in any way whatsoever.

:)

I brought it up because I now have 3 journals...2 online (both on livejournal) and 1 paper. I used to have a blurty account, but it fell to the wayside.

The one linked in my sig line is the sexual journal that ragden and I are doing together.

I guess my concern is that I might lose the paper journaling habit and I like my paper journal. However, my livejournal gets updated more quickly...mostly cuz I'm generally online.

I only ever use a paper journal. I have a notepad and just lets my stream of thought out onto the paper. It wouldn't work any other way.
