In the midst of overpopulation, George Bush's administration has recently refused funding to numerous international programs that support the use of contraceptives. I'm not talking about abortions here folks. I'm talking about contraceptives that enable safer sex and limit unwanted pregnancies.

George W. becomes more of an asshole daily, in my mind.

easier to throw a bunch of rubbers at poor er people who fuck like rabbits than to get them to look at the results of thier fucking like rabbits.

Bad Bush, bad bush, no beaver for you bush

I agree with LTGR.

"Give us aid. Don't give us military aid. Give us money. We don't want your bases. Give us food. Fuck you, you can't use our airspace."

If countries think we meddle too much, we can withdraw our troops. Withdraw our aid.

Now South Korea isn't too happy with us, either. Maybe we should accommodate them and bail out of there.

Planned Parent hood and the other organizations that provide contraceptives also provide education to women about contraception and safe sex practices.

I'm trying to make the point that if people don't appreciate what we give them, why give them anything.

that would be great but the first post wasn't talking about any organizations, she just wants them having contraceptives. nothing in it about anysort of sexual education so that was what I was defering my post to keeping within the material presented.

with your material, if indeed these organizations had plans of going over providing contraceptives with education that bush is blocking that my thoughts would differ from my first post, I was only working with info provided at time of post.

My apologies.

I am sure there is a hidden clause in the Constitution for condemns in Africa.

What is GW thinking </sarcasm>

Its ok most people don't know that. All most people hear is that reps are cutting off funds to abortion clinics. What they don't know is that Bush cuts off the funds to any clinic that even mentions abortions and of course in any contraceptive education abortions are discused.

NPR had a big thing about it today--evidently since a push for abstinence (condoms are widely available too) in Uganda, the HIV prevalence rate has sharply decreased. They have an ABC program, Abstinence first, Be faithful second, Condom third--they started this movement in the early 90's.

The HHS harps only on the A--not taking into account the fact that 40% of Ugandans are Catholic and 20% are Protestant--and yes they speak English. Evidently, in long ago times there was a culture reverence for waiting until marriage to have sex--the renewing of that old tradition along with a multi-pronged safe sex campaign is what has seemed to work.

One thing brought up in the discussion--GWB's people object to medical groups testing and assisting prostitutes in a meaningful way, it sends the wrong message. Since it worked in Uganda--it'll work everywhere--especially in America. Sounds a lot like proselytizing--but to people that don't speak English and that don't study the Bible, it might not make a lot of sense.

He'll start that war over Gérard Depardieu's dead body (Putin, Zemin, Kim, and 150 other semi-important people will object too)

I hear 86% of Frenchie's are against it, that's about the same rate as Turkey-ites.

I applaud the president for not spending taxpayer (read: my) money on international programs that support the use of contraceptives.
Lavender, if you feel strongly about this, you can send your own money to these organizations who offer the international programs.

Hey that sounds like a sweep in the World Series! The French, Germans and assorted UN assholes are irrelevant.

Sadamn tomorrow, Iran and North Korea soon, they are going down. Not to mention several 1000 Al-Quedia types that are running for their lives currently.

Kind of like your post ehh??

I'm not quite sure what you don't understand about it, maybe I didn't spell something correct. Your Planned Parenthood post was pretty poignant, so obviously you are well-informed. I'll try to clarify anyway--Uganda is now the model for the entire world (disregarding everything favorable except the abstinence). I'm guessing "Wait until marriage or you'll burn in hell" won't work as well in Somalia.

Read and learn people.

This is not an international effort but does the same thing many of the international organizations do to educate women just in a much smaller area.

Azwed, if you are referring to me--you're acting like I'm not on your side on this issue.

Ham-whatever, we don't send Trojan "extra ribbed supersensitive feel" condoms to them, X-brand only. We do drop millions of fliers over the damn desert to tell the deprived LDC'ers we care about them. Helping them manage their families (most LDC's have a fertility rate exceeding 5.5) maybe would send a more lasting and meaningful message--we care enough to help them help themselves. Sending government missionaries to preach abstinence and not allowing them to mention condoms, frankly is retarded (proselytizing on tax dollars).

I understood what you meant. I was making reference to your writing style that is pretty confusing to me and lots of other people.

You don't have much solid form to your writing and don't use enough punctuation.
