Little Huntress ~Battle of "Right and Wrong"~

IC: Gregory Wolf

The wolf's mate pushed him away and walked down the stairs speaking in words, but the wolf didn't pay attention to words. He followed after his mate rising to stand on its hind legs. Clawed hands landed on her shoulders and pressed down trying to guide her to its chosen spot in the corner. His tongue swiping over her face sloppily.

She stood her ground turning to face him hands holding the sides of his face making him look at her. Nails digging in a little to keep his undivided attention

Greg you will listen in this form and you will learn.

Her tone growing more commanding as her fangs began to show.

There will be NO MATING till you have learned to accept this form as a full part of you.

Her eyes seemed to grow cold and dark as well. Either they would end up in a fight or he would submit and learn.

IC: Gregory Wolf

His mate was still talking words. "There will be NO MATING."

The wolf whined and ears drooped. His eyes widened into pathetic puppy dog eyes. Pleading with her to reconsider.

"...till you have learned to accept this form as a full part of you."

The wolf's ears perked up and he tilted his head quizzically at this. The wolf had no problems with acceptance. It took everything in stride. Being penned in, unable to hunt, unable to claim a proper territory, unable to choose a den of its own. not being allowed to mate with her the wolf's chosen mate. Yet it never lost its hope or certainty that if he was patient circumstances would change and an oppurtunity would present itself. The wolf would find a way out of this pen eventually. The wolf was the very soul of tolerance.

It was then the others new scent that caught the wolf's attention. There coming from a bag hanging from her back was the scent of meat, bloody, and raw. The wolf's big tongue licked its lips and his belly rumbled. It always awoke in this penn hungry.

You want to eat... you and your human side Greg MUST learn that the other side is NOT the enemy nor some curse or such rubbish.

She sighed. Batai help me please

She took the pack off her back and revealed the deer. Leaving herself between him and the meal.

Both sides need to accept the other and learn to work together. For me... for us... all of us.

IC: Gregory Wolf and Batai

"You want to eat," The wolf's mate said, "you and your human side Greg MUST learn that the other side is NOT the enemy nor some curse or such rubbish."

The wolf tilted his head quizzically again at that.

His mate sighed, "Batai help me please."

She took the meat out of the bag and the wolf's tail wagged and he licked his lips expectantly.

"Both sides need to accept the other and learn to work together. For me... for us... all of us."

"I've missed the side of you, beloved, the fixer...the mother hen, the crusader, the woman who thinks she can solve every problem." Batai said from the steps behind her.

Upon seeing the ghost the wolf whimpered. It curled up in the corner hiding its head under its hands.

"He is Candjou my love." Batai walked close and knelt peering at the cowering werewolf. "He has none of the wisdom of the Iledresoi. This young cub is lost within his animal self." He turned to look up at her. "I could teach him the discipline and meditations to fuze the man and beast, but tonight you must put your crusade aside and content yourself with aqcuainting yourself with his animal self.

He rose back up. "I should go. The presence of spirits such as myself unnerves animals."

Rayna nodded. But how is he not able to... Oh alright... I have to help them Batai... all of them...

Sitting down she looked to Greg and sighed.

He is gone... He is friend... your friend and mine... That was Batai...

She moved the deer carcass over to him with a sigh and leaned back against a wall. Wondering what good her coming here really did now that she could not make both sides accept each other...

IC: Gregory Wolf

The Wolf's mate sat down and looked into his eyes. "He is gone... He is friend... your friend and mine... That was Batai..." She pushed the raw meat closer to him. The wolf brought its muzzle to the carcass sniffing it.

He took it up in his jaws and lifted it easily placing it in her lap. He looked up at her licking its lips and its tail wagging behind him. Clearly he wanted his chosen mate to share their meal.

First... she had humored Greg over breakfast and now to humor the wolf and take a piece of the deer and appear to eat it. The scent of blood doing little to help contain her own hunger as for a moment her fangs grew.

Eat now Greg

She smiled to him pushing the deer off her lap.

IC: Gregory Wolf

The wolf's mate smiled at him and pushed the prey it had brought to the wolf's pen off her lap. "Eat now, Greg."

The wolf leaned and his jaws closed in on a sizeable bite of the deer's haunch. He pulled it free from the body raising his head as he chewed and swallowed the bloody meat down. Behind him his tail wagged content and ecstatic that he was here with his chosen mate.

Rayna

Tearing off a piece from what she had taken from the deer and holding it out in her hand hoping Batai was right. She smiled ready to sit there all night with him till Darren let him out in the morning. There was how Darren would react to what could have been a big risk on her part doing this.

Emily

Emily wandered the house not really needing sleep any more she could not help checking on everyone. She knew that Greg was not there it was time for his lock up for the night but when she came across Rayna's room and saw she was not there and had not been there she just knew where she was and with how Greg talked about the would and what she saw when he shifted in the house that one rare occasion she freaked out a little and ran to wake Darren.

Darren... wake up... wake up... WAKE UP. Gd you sleep like the dead... Yeah I know Shut up and listen... Rayna is not here.... SHe has not been here her bed is still made... You... don't think... she could be... with Greg do you?

Appearing to bit on her finger as she always did when she was nervous she waited for her words to sink in and Darren to answer.

IC: Gregory Wolf

The wolf peered up at the peice of meat his chosen mate dangled above him. He sniffed at it his tail wagging behind him. It was really no different than the side of meat he had been eating before him but the fact his mate was offering it to him struck the wolf as infinitely more appealing. He lunged up taking the meat between his sharp teeth and pulled. They played a game of tug of war for a moment before the meat finally broke in half. He swallowed down the peice that was his prize his tail still wagging behind him.

IC: Darren Cross and Batai

"Darren... wake up... wake up... WAKE UP. God you sleep like the dead."

Darren stirred and peered up at Emily giving her a patient yet suffering look.

"Yeah I know," She continued, "Shut up and listen... Rayna is not here."

"What," He said rising and pulling the sheet off revealing himself in only his briefs. Emily had walked in and seen much more of him before, and Darren was a little too preoccupied to worry about proprieties anyway. "Where did she go?"

"She has not been here," Emily answered, "Her bed is still made... You... don't think... she could be... with Greg do you?"

"Greg, but he's..." He grabbed at his pants, "...You poof over to Greg to see if she's okay, and tell her when I get her out I swear I'm gonna..."

"Do not bother," Batai said making them both spin around to see him standing in the open doorway of Darren's bedroom, "Rayna is with the Candjou, and she is not in danger from him. She would see your appearance now as interference in her crusade with him."

Emily

Greg is Soooo scared of that side of him how can you be so sure and How are you this far away from the necklace? Yeah she may be and old vampire but do you think she can handle it if he tries to kill her?

She was rambling again but she was worried about Greg and her new friend Rayna. She didn't think that his wolf side would hurt Rayna but Greg seemed so certain so she was a little worried as well.

Rayna

She smiled and reached a hand to scratch behind his ears. Sitting back she watched him eat as she closed her eyes relaxing as they waited for dawn. She touched the necklace and smiled thinking aback of how she had so many times curled up with Batai in this form.

IC: Gregory Wolf

The wolf's eyes closed and his head rose pressing into his mate's hand as it scratched that one spot behind his ear that made his tail wag and his foot tap on the floor. He turned to face her his tongue swiping to lick her face sloppily, once twice three times leaving her a slobbery mess, but that was how the wolf showed affection and gratitude.

IC: Batai and Darren Cross

"Greg is Soooo scared of that side of him how can you be so sure," Emily asked.

"He is," Batai nodded, "But he is also Candjou. It is only natural for him to fear that part of himself he does not know. Rayna strives to teach him to accept the wolf and thus accept himself wholly."

Darren shook his head, "She should have told me. I should be there in case something goes wrong."

And how are you this far away from the necklace," Emily asked.

Batai shrugged, "Rayna has connected to the three of you. Though only for a short time with the necklace so far away I can use that connection to appear to you like this."

"What are you doing here," Darren said hurriedly pulling his pants on, "You should be there in case Greg's wolf does something Rayna isn't prepared for."

"Yeah she may be an old vampire but do you think she can handle it if he tries to kill her?"

"He won't," Batai asserted, "You've listened too much to the fears of the Candjou to truly know the soul of the wolf...You don't-you-" He paused and his appearance shimmered for a moment. "I have stayed as long as I am able to. I have to return to the necklace now." And with that Batai was gone.

Rayna

She sat there laughing wiping some of the slobber off her cheek and just watched his eyes hoping some how deep down Greg knew she was there and could see the wolf meant no harm.

Once you are done eating we should rest...

Emily

She listened to what Batai said and thought on it.

I hope he is right... I mean when He wolfed out here in the house the wolf didn't attack us... maybe Batai is right maybe the wolf is harmless... but can she make Greg see and accept that?

She looked to Darren with that infectious hopeful yet worried smile.

You should rest before you go get him in the morning... Batai is there with her with the necklace so I am sure with what he is/was and how long he has been a ghost he will know what to do with Greg if he has to.

Her mind briefly went back to Batai being able to touch her hair and she quickly vanished.

IC: Gregory Wolf

"Once you are done eating we should rest."

The wolf raised his head and nuzzled his snout affectionately against hers. Then resumed eating the deer. He missed the thrill of chasing it down himself, but wolves were oppurtunistic by nature, and the fact that his mate's kill was quite filling made him accept her suggestion.

When the last of the deer was eaten he padded over to the corner he had chosen as his den. The wolf circled his favorite spot a few time before laying down and peering up expectantly at his mate.

IC: Darren Cross

"I hope he is right... I mean when He wolfed out here in the house the wolf didn't attack us," Emily said, "Maybe Batai is right. Maybe the wolf is harmless. But can she make Greg see and accept that?"

"Not likely," Darren shrugged pulling a T-shirt over his head, "Not with the way he feels about his lycanthropy."

"You should rest before you go get him in the morning."

"And leave Rayna alone with him," He began to pull on his nikes, "As thickheaded as Greg is about the wolf she'll need help. I'm through sitting on the sidelines on this."

"Batai is there with her with the necklace so I am sure with what he is/was and how long he has been a ghost he will know what to do with Greg if he has to."

"That's just the point he was trying to make. While their situation was similar the circumstances aren't the same. Batai knows about what he feels but he won't be able to predict how Greg will react."

He turned to face her as Emily answered, but to his surprise she was gone herself. He nodded, as rose and headed downstairs and out of the house for Greg's abandoned building.

Rayna

Walking over she sat down with him before curling up beside him. letting sleep overtake her.

Emily

She could tell Darren was not going to listen so she went to warn Batai that Darren was unwilling to listen and was on his way. SHe was pointlessly guarding the door when he got there.

Lets just stay out here till morning you can hear if anything goes wrong but for now... they are asleep peacefully. She apparently brought him a deer.

She hoped he would listen to reason but if not Batai knew the situation.

IC: Gregory Wolf and Darren Cross

The wolf slept and dreamed. It was in the forest it had never known not the pen it kept finding itself cooped up in in actuality, smelling the deep pine scent that had never filled its nostrils, The moon was full and he and the pack he had never had were weaving through the trees corralling their prey. Taking it down letting his pack mates have the feast by themselves he brought his portion to his chosen mate her belly full and ripe with their coming liter of pups.

He awoke as his keen ears heard the oncoming sound of footsteps. The wolf's head raised as the intruder approached their den. Then he heard the sound of his rival's voice on the other side of the door the Wolf had never been able to get past. His lips curled baring his sharp fangs, and he growled low rumbling in his chest.

His rival wanted to take the wolf's chosen mate for himself. The wolf would never allow that. It would only be over the wolf's dead body that his mate would ever be taken from him.

The doorknob jiggled and then cracked open. "Rayna," His rival's head peeked out from behind the door, "It's Darren. Are you OK down there?"

The wolf had had enough. He jumped into action bounding for the stairs that led to the door and his hated rival. His voice erupting from the low growl to a soul-rending bark. His teeth aching to rend the flesh of his rival's throat to bloody shreds.

Rayna

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE DARREN!!! Rayna called as she grabbed Greg by the scruff and hoisting him up Tlooking him in the eyes her own eyes seeming to glow.

NO!!! Darren is friend... You WILL learn GREG... or there will be NO MATE for either!

She was going to get through to him to make him mentally join both sides. or die trying even if she had to face the wolf and die at its hands to make a point. She still held him in the air her own fangs bared as she stared through it into its soul and into Gregs soul.

Emily

SHIT! God you stubborn IDIOT LISTEN!!!!

She tried to grab at him and for a split second she could but it startled her and she lost it.

IC: Darren Cross and Gregory Wolf and Batai

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE DARREN!!!" Rayna yelled as she snatched Greg by the fur on the back of his neck halting his head long rush towards Darren.

"I just wanted to make sure you were okay," He answered, "You should have told me you were planning to do this, Rayna."

The wolf barked pulling with all his considerable strength to break his mate's hold and be freed to rip his rival apart.

His mate took by the snout and forced him to look into his eyes. "NO!!! Darren is friend... You WILL learn GREG... or there will be NO MATE for either!"

The Wolf whimpered imploringly at that.

Darren pretty much was ignoring Emily as he made to step down into the basement to help Rayna until he felt the tug as her hand actually closed on his arm and pull for a brief moment. The unexpected tug made him go off balance and stumble down the next two steps. He turned back looking up at Emily.

"You have to stay focused, little one, Batai said behind her, "If you'd like I'll teach you how."

Batai then looked at Darren, "You should not have come. You've only aggravated the Candjou."

Darren looked back at Greg the only thing keeping him from charging Darren was Rayna's grip. "Well, I'm here now, and I want to help show Greg that his werewolf side of him is not a disease."

Rayna looked to Batai.

Do you thing his presence can help since they have been friends longer than they have known me? If we are all to do this together then perhaps the wolf should see both himself and Darren submit then combine Greg and the wolf in the morning when he returns to his human mind.

~~~~
Emily just stood there staring and nodding absently to Batai...
Yeah... I just... I can do that... how?
IC: Batai
"Do you thing his presence can help since they have been friends longer than they have known me," Rayna asked him.
Batai shrugged, "Your guess is as good as mine. We never had this problem with the Iledresoi. This refusal to accept the change is purely a Candjou experience."
"If we are all to do this together then perhaps the wolf should see both himself and Darren submit then combine Greg and the wolf in the morning when he returns to his human mind."
Batai nodded, "The wolf would perhaps perceive you as the pack leader if you behave as the alpha." He looked at the wolf who was hunched and whimpering under his gaze. Strange that it hadn't acted that way in the presence of Emily but did whenever Batai drew near him.
Emily then asked him, "Yeah... I just... I can do that... how?"
He held out his hand to her, "Come with me to the roof of this building, and I will show you how." Before vanishing with Emily he glanced back to Rayna, "I will be nearby if you need me, beloved."
Emily
She headed to the roof and waited for Batai. Wondering if the fact that the wolf had seen her before was why he did not cower at her presence.
She felt when Batai arrived. He shifted in the house once and I was in the Kitchen he stared he growled but he would not attack nor did he cower... like he does with you...
She turned around finding him just right there... Its... strange... so much... going on... She looked into his eyes.
Rayna
She nodded to Batai... Help our young ghost friend my love...
Looking to Darren... Go sit down over there by the wall.
She turned Greg to look in her eyes. You will accept Darren as well Greg you are BOTH Mine... Both are mate Is that clear?
She moved over to Darren guiding Greg over as well. Sitting Greg down she watched them both for a long moment.
IF you both will get along and accept each other as also being a part of my life and heart then I will mark both of you as MY mates.
She stood there watching their reactions knowing Darren she hoped would have the good sense to "play along"for the sake of the wolf and helping Greg.
IC: Batai
Batai appeared on the roof behind Emily peering out at the moonlit Boston skyline, "The Candjou did not seem as frightened of you as he was of me."
"He shifted in the house once and I was in the Kitchen he stared he growled but he would not attack nor did he cower," She answered, "Like he does with you."
Batai shrugged approaching her, "Animals are usually good judges of character. You're an open soul, like a virgin, innocent and easy to trust, while me...well, he is right to be terrified of me."
She turned looking up into his eyes. "Its... strange... so much... going on..."
He placed his hands on her shoulders, "It's easy for the two of us to feel swamped by events. We are bound to a moment that has long passed. You're friends don't understand what its like to be the observer, constantly the fifth wheel." He took her chin and steadied her head. "Shall we begin the lesson in how to touch something."
------------------------------------------------------------x
IC: Darren Cross and Gregory Wolf
Darren noticed immediately the change in Rayna's bearing from easy-going caring woman to dominant and assertive woman. It was like a door to a room that was always in the house but never visited had opened wide to let them inside of it. She was an Empress, a Commander, and a Alpha now.
This new Rayna looked at him and saying simply, without raising her voice, as if the very thought of Darren's defiance was unheard of. "Go sit down over there by the wall."
He crossed over to the wall she had indicated without question noting the way Greg's eyes followed after a low growl emerging.
Rayna grabbed him by the muzzle and dragged his face so she could look deep into the wolf's eyes. "You will accept Darren as well Greg you are BOTH Mine." She said with the same subtle velvet shrouded iron in her tone, "Both are mate Is that clear?"
The wolf's ears lowered and his tail tucked between his legs as it whimpered imploringly to her to change her mind. "IF you both will get along and accept each other as also being a part of my life and heart then I will mark both of you as MY mates."
The wolf's ears shot up at that, and Darren stammered, "You actually can do that to the both of us, mark us," He ran his hand through his hair stepping towards them, "I thought only the elders had the ability to manage..." He stopped at the start of a wolf's growl again. "Sorry," He said taking a step back towards the wall Rayna had told him to wait at.
Emily
She stood there her mind still racing over how she had grabbed Darren's arm. It had been so weird... so... strange. It wan't like physical touch as she remembered it... this was more like she the souls were the physical now and one soul simply grabbed another yet almost like a parent setting a child right. In her mind she had to "fix his thoughts" so she grabbed him.
She looked to Batai... Yeah
There was that touch from him again she bit her lip as she felt the touch and let that sensation take over for a split second.
~~~~~

Rayna

She looked to Darren.

This is not like our kind mark each other but their way of marking each other I was just shown how to tweak it to make another vampire if I ever needed to... like now.

Hearing the growl she snapped her head back to Greg and snarled right back at him.

Darren come here... She motioned him over as she slowly loosened her grip on Greg's muzzle.

You... Greg will Accept Darren... her words faded as she mumbled and yourself after this I hope. Guiding them to both stand before her she finally fully released Greg's muzzle her eyes locked on his as if daring him to defy her by going after Darren.

Darren this will be easier if you remove your shirt. The mark will go on the back of the right shoulder close to the base of the neck.

With that she moved to walk behind them her fangs resuming their rightful place hoping that the bite will somewhat waken Greg into the wolf as memories merge in this moment. Leaning in she carefully sank fangs into the back of the wolfs right shoulder allowing the fangs to tear just a little to leave a small scar as the mark.

Next she moved to Darren and with him it was a little different as she let her fangs tear a little she bit her tongue and let the bloods mix just enough to corrupt the healing and leave a small scar where the two little tears were. They both now had what looked like two matching blood droplets on their backs that would remain as her mark but something she could explain to them how to heal up if thy all ever parted company permanently.

Walking back around in front of them she smiled to both.

We should sleep.

Motioning to the area that Greg had shown her for rest.

IC: Batai

"Shall we begin the lesson in how to touch something."

Emily nodded, "Yeah."

"I won't patronize you little one. This will be an exceedingly difficult and frustrating feat for you to repeat," Batai explained, "First you must be in a high emotional state...you must be very upset. Second you must know whomever you are trying to touch well enough to synchronize the pulse of your spirit with theirs. Third you must focus all of your concentration on the action you want to acheive."

Batai wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, "There are those like us who become obsessed with this difficult feat, moreso they become more and more unstable emotionally trying to touch something to move it. Me and Rayna have seen this and the damage such an unstable spirit can cause."

He looked down into her eyes and brushed another stray lock out of her face. "Before we begin though. Promise me you will be careful when you try this."

----------------------------------------x

IC: Darren Cross

"You actually can do that to the both of us, mark us. I thought only the elders had the ability to manage..." He stopped as the wolf made a low warning growl at him.

"This is not like our kind mark each other, Rayna explained, "but their way of marking each other I was just shown how to tweak it to make another vampire if I ever needed to... like now."

The wolf low growl became a whimper when Rayna snapped his head to stare into her stern gaze.

"Darren come here," She said motioning him closer.

Darren nodded and took a step eyeing the wolf warily.

"You... Greg will Accept Darren..." Rayna told the wolf then muttered something Darren didn't quite catch.

She then instructed them both where to stand side by side and for Darren to remove his shirt. It was discarded on the first step up the stairs out of the basement.

Darren saw her and tensed ready to come to her defense as she bit into the Wolf's shoulder. It-he-Greg-flinched and whimpered but did not move to attack Rayna. Next she came up behind Darren.

"I've never been...Bishop wanted to, but he was still learning how..." He jumped as she leaned in close and the feel of her fangs pressing against a spot on the back of his shoulder. A moment later came pain as the tips of those fangs peirced his skin. For a brief moment he felt liquid fire race through him and then all was gone.

Rayna pulled out and stepped in front of them. "We should sleep." She gestured to one corner of the basement.

Darren gestured to the wolf, "Will he allow me to lie beside the two of you?"
