I need some help with spanish.

I need the word for prostitute, as a noun. I think it's puta, but am unsure.

I need the word for woman, girl, and any terms of endearment you might know.

I'm working on a western, so Mexican spanish is preferred. Basically I have a character who will be mixing english and spanish in sentences, if that's helpful?

"Muchacha" for girl, if I remember correctly from high school Spanish class. "Querida" is a popular term of endearment, I believe.

"puta" is the epithet for prostitute, yes. :)

When you're familiar, close to someone female, it's common to call them "mija" - friends call each other this pretty often.

woman - mujer

girl - chica, niña, muchacha

preparado is ready, but not sure if it'd be used in that context. That might be a Perdita question. :)

I know, I'm only surprised you haven't had more of a response. Puta is accurate as far as I know, bit I'd have thought Mexican/Spanish would have words of its own for the items you're looking for.

Terms of endearment from 'Who' to 'Who'...

Mija is not a term of endearment from adult male to adult female... unless he is older. Mija is a chopped version of mi hija (my daughter); which specificies a particular relationship. It's really a term of endearment in the parental sense. (Let's not get into the use of Papi and Mami between lovers.)

The simplest form of lover 'endearment' making is to a stick a 'mi' in front of a complimentary adjective. (Latin's are big on the mine concept.)

Mi amor
Mi bella
Mi ...

That's formal... slightly more personal is to not to use the mi

Amor
Bella...

---

Cariño is a very nice one...

--I would say make your own term of endearment and go with it... gives the story a unique feel.

The only thing there is to watch your sex match, Latins have a rough time with the 'neuter' thing.

Sincerely,
ElSol

Uh...

Ready... preparada(o) is okay but in sex I would say you need a more immediate version... lista(o).

For instance... if I were talking to a friend about someone hot chickie waiting in the next room, I wouldn't say

"Hasta preparada!"

More

"Esa nena esta lista!"

nena is also a girl term. (Don't know if it's mexican though.)

ElSol

Fascinating what they DON'T teach in high school Spanish class! That could come in handy for me, too, later.

I think it seriously depends on the country, but puta would equal it in Central America. PM Dita, she knows Mexican?

Not know the tone or mood of your story, here's a few more lines. P.

Como quieras. - Any way you want.

Ábrete sus piernas. - Spread (lit. open) your legs.

¿Cómo lo hacemos? - How do you want it? (lit. How should we do it?)

¡Qué mojado lo tienes! - I’m so wet!

Besame. - Kiss me.

Comame. - Eat me.

Cojame. - Fuck me.

Te quiero. - I want you.

Hágame el amor. Make love to me.

My favorite Spanish terms of endearment:

Carina (I'd probably translate it as "sweetie")
Mi Corazon (literally "my heart")
Querida ("dear")
chica linda (pretty girl)
guapa (good looking)

I know a little street spanish Colly, and used puta as a term of endearment to a spanish gangbanger, which might fit into a western because it almost turned into a gunfight.

I was tryin to walk out of a building where a group of gangbangers decided to sit on the steps. I was, as per usual, bein nice. Even with my limited understanding of spanish some of the stuffs they were saying was making me blush. Then it got rude, and one guy got in my face and in international bad manners and insult stuck his tongue out and twirled it around.

Without thinkin I called him a "pequito puta" and brushed on by. His friends was all laffin thier asses off. As I glanced back he looked like he was going for his gun and I was about to pull mine, but a police squad car pulled up and they scattered, running in all different directions.

Later on some of my engish speaking spanish friends was asking me why I called him that, and I said "I dunno, it just came to me". Then they asked if I knew what it meant and I had to think and say "not really".

They was all staring at me with thier mouths open and finally said:

Only you would call a gangbanger a "little whore".
