Little Communists.

That wasn't the question. The question was if I resented the pledge later not whether I supported this. I think this is a commercial, I don't think this is being taught in school. If it is the scum teaching it need to be jailed. Or better shot. But I think this is a commercial it certainly doesn't look like it was recorded in a class room.

But then I wouldn't expect you you to understand the difference between fantasy and reality.

Hey, you're the dude who compared Obama's propaganda (calling it indoctrination) to the Pledge of Allegiance (which you also called indoctrination.)

One man's indoctrination is another's pledge to uphold the Constitution of the United States, I guess.

Oh, and btw, your Liberal penchant for violent rhetoric is showing again. Last time I checked we weren't lining up teachers and shooting them just yet. Keep it civil, Pol Pot.

...just sayin'

The commercial is a good thing cuz it simply pisses folks off and makes life harder for teachers and socialist workers. When they dont get raises people think, FUCK THEM and Obama.

Of course it's a fucking commercial. It's an ad from MoveOn.org. They're actors. The implication is "This is so obvious stuff that even a 10 year old gets it."

Nobody here thinks otherwise, they're just being dickbags.

Well, most of them. I guess some are just that incredibly stupid.

A good thread for my 10 year tax plan:

1. Immediately Raise the Top Marginal Income Tax Rate to: 45% on income over 500,000 . The next rate to: 40% on income over 250,000 and the third rate to, 35% on income over 125,000. (Higher than it was during the Sacred Clinton Surplus years)

The Word of the Lord

2. Immediately repeal the Capital Gains tax - BUT treat capital gains as regular Income.

The Word of God

3. Eliminate the Cap on FICA taxation.

The Word of God

4. Eliminate Deductions for State/Local/City/County taxes paid.

The Word of God

5. Eliminate Deductions for Mortgage interest for those earning over 125,000.

The Word of God

6. Eliminate all Deductions for those earning over $500,000.

The Word of The Lord

7. Institute a 3% National Sales tax on all non-food goods and services.

The Word of God

8. Eliminate all Tax Subsidies for all Corporations and treat Corporations as individuals for tax payments.

The Word of God

9. Institute a 12% import tariff on all imported Goods, from any source.

The Word of God

10. Institute a 1% transaction fee on stock, Bond and commodity exchanges.

The Word of God

And let the money roll. With all that revenue (because according to our democratic contingent - taxes do not affect business or investment profits the GDP will GROW by leaps and bounds, jobs will appear like mushrooms on manure and we'll all dance on the streets paved with gold.

Can I have an Amen?

No, dear.

Eliminate all tax deductions and credits. Terminate income taxes, death taxes, and capital gains taxes. Then create a national sales tax thats progressive...that is, incomes lower than 10K pay no tax, incomes above 100K pay 10%. Everyone pays 10% towards disability and retirement, with 30 years of credits (1/2 pay). Slap stiff tariffs on imports that are made in the USA; the tariff will equal the official unemployment rate. Bananas, for example, would be exempt from tariffs, mahogany lumber would be exempt, salmon would not, tuna would not, pineapples would not, beef would not, tobacco would not, diamonds would be exempt.

When you finally understood did you resent pledging your allegiance?

I did; for a number of reasons

1: I don't pledge my allegiance to anything; if it comes down to me dieing for my country- my ass is running; Canada, Europe, Mexico- I'm a lover, not a fighter baby. And everything I love about Freedom has to do with my right to do whatever the hell I want. And I don't WANT to pledge my allegiance to a flag OR the republic for which it stands. I pledge my allegiance to Candi. Hoggle is Hoggle's friend.

2: It sounds weird.

3: It's got god in it; not my cup of tea. Well, cup of coffee, to finish the American theme.

4: "One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"- we're pretty divisible. Wasn't there an entire war about that? Aren't people still bitching about 'states rights vs federal rights' or some shit?

5: I have a personal aversion to speaking in unison for any reason. I hated it with this, I hated it with times tables, the periodic table, and anything else we had to do it in. The one exception was choir because that was a competition. Sounds way to creepy and Natzi-ish. We're all unique little snowflakes- just like everyone else.

6: It was one more thing that kept me away from the damn art corner. And if I didn't get over there fast enough, you know that dick Adam was gonna jump in and try to take my spot. I'd knock his ass down; we both moved slowly closer to it throughout that morning bullshit.

Fuck that; that's my play-dough. I'll divide you; you little shit.

When you finally understood did you resent pledging your allegiance?

Nah, not especially. I kinda thought it was dumb and unnecessary, though, and meaningless to elementary school kids. The history is rather colored; socialists and McCarthy freaks. I've never understood why the flag and then the republic. Why can't I be loyal to the republic and not the flag? Interesting piece I found here:

As far as the religious stuff is concerned, my learning to repeat the Apostle's Creed was more a matter of being in church and following the motions, reading from the book when everyone else did, so it didn't feel quite the same.

What evidence do you have that it's being taught in schools? Oh yeah, you haven't.

And it all seems pretty reasonable to me.

Both are indoctrination. Anything you have a child reciting prior to their ability to understand what it means is indoctrination. stop being a moron.

And no my conservative penchant for violence is showing or are Conservatives the ones trying to ban the death sentence and get guns away from people? Gosh I need to engage you people more often it seems I'm able to force you break down into your Jentastic stupidity really fast.

No you may not... Change the 35% to start at 200K and I will node my head

Nope. 125k is top 5% of the nation's earners and they have to be hurt along with the rest. You may double the numbers listed for Married filing Jointly - numbers were for single filers.

The spending cuts that come with this tax package are just as comprehensive and sweeping. Entire federal agencies cut to $0. A 25 year phaseout of medicare/Social Security (with phased benefit reductions by age group over 25 years). 60% defense spending cuts. Constitutional Amendment forcing congress to legislate all regulation rather than permit administrative regulation.

I'm not trying to save the current level of federal government or allow a huge expansion of government into every aspect of life.

I'm trying to pay down the government debt to a manageable level, lower long term government liabilities and strengthen the dollar to a point where we have to assist home buyers by paying the difference between their deflated home values and their mortgage amounts. (meaning banks will have a huge temporary influx of cash to lend).

I like it all. The only problem I have is that YTD the federal government has taken over 17K from my pay check... I refuse to give them anymore!

You evil rich fuck.

I've paid $0 this year to date. You see. I need you to pay more tax because I'm counting on you to cover my "Earned Income Tax Credit".

Never work.

Until that 47+% that is paying no federal taxes now get some skin in the game you are looking at a perpetual welfare state. That being the case the congress will always find an excuse to hand out monies to the 'disenfranchised." Further, you and I know that inflation is right around the corner (actually here now, but creative bookkeeping is keeping it out of the official reports so far). In no time the wage earner making $40K today will be making $125K. Of course his/her disposable net won't have changed an iota and they will soon find Uncle Sam even deeper in their jeans with their having improved their lot not at all.

The entire notion of 'income tax' has to be discarded. The reason is that income, and 'taxable income' has been gerrymandered to death. Hordes of K street lawyers are paid to convince congress as to what constitutes income/profit and what constitutes a write down and it's the productive, energetic, up and comers that get caught in that slamming door. Why should anyone be taxed on the fruits of their labor?

Why is it that so many politicians can't understand that a thriving economy, taxed at a reasonable rate, will pay down the debt faster than any taxation scheme? And that unless spending is severely restrained it really doesn't matter what the tax rate is, the debt will continue to grow.

If, as many on the extreme left would love to see, we were to cut the pentagon budget to $0 tomorrow, AND all of those monies were used to pay down the debt, based on the rules under which congress does it's accounting and budgeting, we will be right back where we are today in 7-10 years. You and I both know that to be a fact.

This nation does not have a taxation problem, it has a spending problem. And that problem manifests itself in the desire of congress to use the national treasury to buy votes, which is either bribery or extortion depending on whether you are the recipient or the unwilling donor.

I am so morbidly paranoid I can't click

I really, really wish I could bring myself to click on your link, so I could view it's content, violently disagree with it and then come back here and make fun of you.

Unfortunately, I can't do any of that; I never click on any link for fear of contracting illness. I feel I'm letting you down by not reacting to your post; I'm so sorry.

Woe is me. I'm so depressed.

This is what is being taught in the nations elementary schools.

TAX FOOD-FOR-NEEDY PROGRAMS

Plan floated to tax food-for-needy programs

New collection put on hold after public outcry

"The South Dakota Department of Revenue thought it had found a new source of cash: Those who feed the hungry.

"However, a public outcry over a proposal that would have added an additional cash burden to those who are feeding the neediest has prompted the state to put the idea on hold – for now."
