Lit's Publishing rights

I haven't published elsewhere, so I'm unfamiliar with how these rules play out. Can you do this:

Publish chapters 1-9 of a story here at Literotica.

Publish the entire story, all chapters, at another site, including chapter 10, and require pay for it there.

Have no links in your literotica story to the story at the other site.

But refer to the other site in your public Literotica page information.

You CAN do that, right? Or am I mistaken?
In principle this, "But refer to the other site in your public Literotica page information" would breach the policy rule, using Lit to advertise a story started here but you have to pay for the ending elsewhere.

In that case, Chaps 1 - 9 should get taken down from Lit, to my way of thinking - make the story do all its work on the other site.

I realize this, and it's partly why I am much less bothered and concerned about seeming inconsistencies at this Site than some are. It's a Mom and Pop operation. It always has been. I have no idea whatsoever what's involved with Laurel and Manu operating this Site, or how they do it, but the result is it's the world's biggest and best erotic story website and it offers a great platform for me to publish stories and have them read. So I enjoy the ride and I put up with the bumps.

With all due respect, Simon, you admitted above that you've never posted anywhere else, so how do you know Lit is the world's best? I have posted a number of other places, so I have a standard of comparison. Biggest? Probably. Best? Nope....

I think-stressing this because even back then when it was more commonly heard of it was vague AF-is that if you did 1-9 here, then beyond that somewhere else for sale, and don't link it, then of course Lit would never be the wiser, however, someone could report it and send them the link and that could jeopardize the chapters here.

I know of one person-her name had Owl in it I think-who did a sibling series here, then put the finale for sale and then had the series here rejected. This was way the hell back.

Like a lot of lits rules, its hard to find it, it has a shit ton of room for interpretation, and is used at whim.

Depends how you define "biggest". Literotica has about 520k stories; Ao3 has more than 1.3 million rated as "explicit", most of those for sexual content, out of ~8 million total.

A complaint at Amazon that the story is available for free elsewhere will have your book price dropped to $0. I doubt Amazon would care much whether it was 9 chapters or 10. My experience is that if they don't like something they won't answer your support queries. You go on ignore.
