maybe I am not understanding the question either, or I just have a different perspective. I work at a big box store, and I do tend to see the dregs of humanity, both as customers, and employees. People you wouldn't leave unsupervised anywhere else, but take them out in public, and just turn them loose. And the fact that we don't hold people accountable for their actions most of the time just encourages such behavior. So there is that.

Then there's here. I was recently reminded not to paint everyone with such a broad brush, but I think most of the females here are rather intelligent, mature, and secure people. They know what they like and don't like, and respond accordingly. And while I don't see or get the random PM, I do see alot of the post men make, and they tend to hover around that 14 yr/o level of boobs, pussy, and getting laid. Again, I'm not saying its everyone, or even all the time.....but you do notice when people post about the same things over and over.

My statement of those that are in big box stores was not a generalization on the people that shop there, it was simply referenced as a location where a cross section of the population goes, and where there is enough statistical mass for one to get an assessment of maturity as a whole.

true, but it makes me wonder; if my store was closed, then what would they do? just be wandering the streets aimlessly, causing mischief? and my city recently shot down a curfew ordinance because they felt there wasn't a need to unduly target teens.

how do you define maturity? At what age do unruly acts of mischief appear immature? When my sons were 4, they were cute. I don't recall the point in time where I expected them to stop throwing a baseball across the living room.

I guess there are different definitions, depending on the context. would you ride a bicycle or skateboard through your living room? in church? at the bank? at school? is the behavior in one place acceptable everywhere? that I think might be a good measure of maturity; tailoring your behavior to the situation and context and acting accordingly

When I first joined, the ridiculous requests I received...holy cow.. But, over time, I've made it perfectly clear I don't shy from publicly ripping you a new one if I have to.
