I'm a planner. I make lists. If something throws a wrench in my plans, I'm not a happy person, but tend to adapt and overcome the situation.

How soon do you show your hand in a relationship? It's always such a dance, initially wanting to be interested but coolly not too interested. You you want the other person to know you like them; too much, too early is bad. Then we start looking for signs that the feelings could be reciprocated. Both parties playing off each other.

How soon will you let someone know your interest in them is more than cursory. And is it any different in RL?

Usually it's not a problem, though I have run into one or two guys who viewed it as more a dance. Where the expression of interest was viewed almost as a losing step in the game. That type often tends to withhold interest, as if that keeps them in a superior position. Open admission = an undermining of power.

For me that's a losing proposition. I, ahem, require a certain amount of attention. I need to know that I am desired. A little dancing is okay, but I typically wander off from guys that view showing their interest in me as some type of jockeying for power.

I am, possibly, maybe, of course, open to...errrr....other types of power exchange dynamics. :eek:

I'm going to assume that's meant to ask if it's any different in real life? If so, then nope. :)

As an aside, I have occasionally become interested in someone who did not hold my attention initially simply because they've been willing to showing their attraction to me in a persistent way. A respectfully, not obnoxious, persistent way.

It seemed wise to add that last part. :D

I try to never tip my hand.

That being said, I'm really bad at not tipping my hand. If I like you, i tend to be like an overzealous puppy - chasing you around, nipping at your ankles to get attention and then rolling over so you can rub my belly. It's sad, really.

Once I've decided to get into a relationship, the other party is aware that I am interested. Do I play it cool? I suppose there is some of that, however once it's been established, it's a time waster. These games were played in high school and I'm way past that.

I do require a certain amount of attention and if I'm not getting that, I don't want to waste my time trying to explain myself. I'm clear about what I want and need - with the same expectation for the other party. I think having to repeat yourself over and over just goes to show that you've gotten involved with someone selfish, who wants that? There is a certain amount of understanding and that's why communication is extremely critical in order for both parties to be happy.

I tend to be black and white when it comes to dealing with people. But what I require from others, I am more than willing to give myself.

I treat people here as I do in real life...if I am interested they will know. I don't play games. And I do try to be polite about it if I am not interested in pursuing it further.......sometimes the vibe just isn't there....some of those have turned into great friends & one cannot have enough of those....:)

Without being clingy or anything, I try to let the person know I enjoy their company. And I am sure to say it that formal... girls love formalities. Then I will send them an Outlook invite for 3-7 minutes of sexy time.

IRL or online, I eventually reach the blurt phase, the timing is out of my hands, and it all just comes tumbling out in a stream-of-consciousness in which I hope I make sense. :)
