grandma taught us that bras and panties should be purchased in sets.. and, in public, they were referred to as "nummies"
I always thought nummies were what we found when we removed said under garments.

While we're on personalities, I'll extend the related topic a bit further. We know what personality traits we don't want to display. And we can assume that if we don't want those for ourselves, we don't want them in others, can't we? If we know what like/dislike how do we go about getting what we want? Do you put it in your profile(I've seen a few do that)? If you do, are you worried about people presenting themselves as something they aren't? I'm rambling........but I think you get where I'm headed.

The true inner-self shines through after a while.Agreed. I used to have stuff in my profile which no one ever really read. I do read profiles but learned they are mostly media pieces written to grab the eye (which is fine in most cases). Either that, or I'd run away screaming from lack of punctuation and grammar.
Over time I've realized the best way to get to know someone is through the boards or conversation.
Things I learned that no profile will tell me...
The way others treat someone on a board is a good indicator of what kind of person they are. And hey, if I'm fooled atleast everyone else is too.
Everyone is entitled to be who they want to be...not necessarily who life makes them be. It doesn't always make them dishonest...it makes this place what it is...an outlet.
Pm'ers. ..
Do they question why I haven't replied to their email after ten minutes?-stay away
Do they p.m. me, 'hey girl, what's up?' 500 times?-stay away
Do they keep confusing me with someone else?-stay away
Do they sneak in the back door of my superior emotional walls and surprise the fuck out of me with great conversation or more? - that will probably make me stay lol
just trying to be a bit funny (pre- coffee), but if you really care what someone is like it's the same as in real life. Talk talk talk. If you just care about the end result and never want to *see* them again, then sure....believe whatever fantasy you want.
If we know what like/dislike how do we go about getting what we want?

I'm rather confused by this. I'm not here in search of "wanting". Not everyone here is in search of a "Lit" partner. I actually came here hoping to find someone that was interested in developing a relationship, moving that into real life, someone that was a match for me. After being here, I see that this is a rarity, that most people are looking for the "online hookup" whatever the heck that really means, so I gave up on the idea. *shrugs*
You bring up a good point. Not everyone comes here wanting the same thing. Some people just come here to play word games, write pervy limericks, or ogle sexy women in corsets. Others come here seeking sexual gratification to some degree by whatever method, and others just come to chat and interact with like-minded people. I think that's one of the good things about LIT. It offers different forms of interaction with others... or no one at all.
For those of you that seek interaction(whatever that may be) from others, how do you go about getting what you want from them?
All 4 love 'I'm rather confused by this. I'm not here in search of "wanting".'
Wanting....to me anyway...doesn't have to mean lit partner although I'm not sure what Chained specifically meant by it.
When I fiirst came here (and still) I wanted to find like minded people....myself...friends. These things aren't lit hookups but they still require some measure of transparency or honesty on the part of the person who is helping with your own personal journey.

I've had the panty vs panties debate. Still not 100% sure which it is I'm removing, but I don't let it get in my way![]()
Thank you. In this case, I don't go about "getting" what I want. I accept what is given, what takes place, and I'm okay with that.
Thank you, Ruby. I love your mind. You come across this way, honest and transparent, but tactfully so. I appreciate that.![]()
Same - it was stories. I was tired of someone else's bad fantasy on pics or vids and found stories were more intimate, and still are of course. Since birds of a feather flock, then it was likely there would be other people with the same mindset.I came to Lit for the stories, only joining so I could better ask questions on some of the forums. Social interaction wasn’t really my goal, and having no profile or AV kept most people from approaching me. Eventually I started trading PMs with one or two women I liked interacting with on the board, though I was, am still am, pretty cautious with men. Even now that I’m more open, I don’t know that I actively look for certain qualities. Friendships here for me seem to be rather happenstance. Do I click, or not?![]()

But sometimes people can have somewhat different personalities in private. I mean, I know I seem all serious and somber here, but I can be a real cut up in private.
*smug little laugh*
I don't talk to many people off the boards anymore. I find it tough to find people who capture my interest, and (more importantly) keep it. Someone here (rainshine? Ruby?) said something about it being irritating to start talking to someone interesting, then to have the conversation always turn to trying to get some sexy talk/sexting/etc. It's hard to have to constantly try to steer the conversation back to just talking. And that's not something that can be advertised in a profile or even on the forums, I don't think. It just comes through the course of conversation.
I know it's a sex forum, and I know I've been known to post pictures of my boobies on occasiono ), but I do like to just talk to people about life, relationships, etc. With some exception (ie, if someone's a real dick/womanizer/etc) publicly on the threads, or their PMs to you go something like "fuck girl u r hot wanna chat," that can be hard to gauge, for me at least.
^^^this...exactly
Agreeing with this makes me think of a question for the people who message women. Does it feel like a minefield? Would you rather not p.m. then try? I'm seriously asking

that's kinda sadThis. So much all of this.
This. So much all of this.
that's kinda sad
I'm not sure if you mean it's sad that it's difficult to find conversation that isn't sexy times, or sad that I think so?![]()
