I guess it's because of my generation and because I worked in an area of the government where just being a homosexual would get you fired, but except for one very close relative I hadn't known many GBLT people at all. I didn't run away from it.

Also, the amount of people who have no relationship with the SO they're living with and some of the vitriol that comes from them at times. I didn't embrace or run away from it, I just basically read what they say and move on. Oh wait...that's running away.

And the drama. I'm always surprised by the drama.

And who dislikes whom. It always surprises me when I'm told, "I don't like that person." Or "I had a falling out with that person." In that way, I guess I'm like Rodney King.

2 things surprise me here. I take them for what they are.
The first is the true connection I have found with a few people. While I expected to find people that I could joke and spend time with, I did not expect to find people with whom I would share intimate details of my life. When it happens, I find it very refreshing.
The other - I'm sometimes surprised by people who have an "all or nothing" approach to online communication within days of meeting. I can't imagine someone in real life pressuring me into exposing parts of myself over a first lunch (and I don't mean physically) but it happens here as if it's commonplace.

2 things surprise me here. I take them for what they are.

Pickles, Bread and Butter Pickles, jalapenos (both red and green) and cuke-a-penos - which is a mix of pickles and jalapenos. I have a bushel of pickles and a bushel of jalapenos coming in from the farmer's market and 60 pint jars.

This is one of those things that doesn't seem like work to me although it is a lot of work...slicin', dicin', cookin' and cannin'.

I get thread hijacking and recognize that it's all fun and all that. I also get that there are some girl threads where guys are welcomed. However, there have been some that say girls only. Then, guys post and wonder why they're being ignored. WTF? There are thousands of threads guys.

Oh no, they're more than rude and verge on being criminal. In the real world if guys went around saying that shit to people, how many calls to the police would be made? A lot.
