So when the global apocalypse reaches its peak and its time to board the rocket to Mars... am I driving?! Or I’ll pass out the blankies and splits of liquor and rub everyone’s back? ;)

Sound's like an adventure to me.

^^Glad I could capture you boys’ minds. ;)

Sleeping, chilling, lounging, around the house...
That’s been the theme for a while now.
And I find I have suddenly amassed a giant collection of expensive pajamas.
I’ve spent fuckloads of money on fancy robes.
I think I even recently googled the phrase “luxury socks.”
It’s frivolous, but fuck it, it’s soft. And it feels good.
And I’m not even sorry!

So what’s something you’ve splurged on over the last (what is it now?) 9 or 10 months that is probably totally unnecessary but you are 100% willing to justify it, because covid.

I bought pans to cook bread in and stocked up on spices. :)

My husband recently came home with a bread maker. I laughed at him. My bad.
Turns out, I am really enjoying a fresh loaf of bread every other day.

He also bought a pantry load of fancy japanese instant ramen. Again, I laughed. I shouldn't have. That stuff is delicious.

I've purchased some of the higher-end Japanese instant ramens and loved them. But I have to watch my sodium intake more now which means I rarely eat ramen anymore. But good gosh it was so easy to build a meal around it or toss in some extra veggies for a meal of its own.

Frivolous, perhaps, but IT FEELS GOOD! It's kind of nice lounging around, going to bed and waking up comfy/cute/sexy/insert your word here. However, now I may google "luxury socks"

I went a little overboard with faux fur blankets and subscription boxes. Down to 2 boxes now, Flaviar and Misfits Market. The kids are still deciding on what box they would like to keep.

What about your own ramen with a low sodium broth? Or is that still overdoing it? I've seen some recipes I'd love to try. Never had high end Japanese ramen so not sure if it would be quite the same, if at all.

I like not putting the noodles in a soup, still delicious and really cuts down on the sodium. You can still add whatever toppings and additions you want.

I remember being young, living off ramen, and only ever eating the noodles. This would work for me, thank you.

That would actually work, I hadn't thought of doing that. Thanks.

Y’all.
What even is fancy ramen?!

SUBSCRIPTION BOXES 😍

My Stitch Fix box came today
And inside of it
Was a boatload of extras I threw in there
All pajamas: cute ones, sexy ones, sassy ones, soft ones.
GIVE ME ALL THE PJ’s

I couldn't see myself buying "luxury socks" like those $100 Bombas socks.

Now fancy underwear I'm down for!

Dude.
Have you worn Bombas?!
They’re fuckin awesome.
I own one pair that I got for Xmas last year.
I have yet to break the seal on buying my own. Could be dangerous.

I have a few pair of Bombas I received last year for a Christmas gift. I don’t like them. Runs and hides

Y’all.
What even is fancy ramen?!

If you've got an Asian market near you or a store with a good Asian aisle on it you'll find it. I can't remember the product names but the noodles are flavor-infused and have a better texture. They taste so much better than the run-of-the-mill ramen it's shocking. It's really worth trying.

Look in the refrigerated salad section for fresh raman...you can thank me later

So it wasn't a lot of money but I splurged on the most ridiculous duvet cover. It is seriously silly looking but it's so soft and fuzzy and warm and feel good against the naked flesh so totally totally worth it.

Now that was me buying for me. Hubby splurged on some power tools for me because he knew being cooped up I'd probably go mad. So I have a new miter saw, router set, and he borrowed a friend's rip saw. All to keep me occupied.

Sex and scuba diving.
The two best ways for me to stay in the present moment.
What are yours?
How do you keep that mind from hurtling into the future or lingering too long in the past?

Biking, music, and playing guitar... Those last two basically the same I guess... Spring to mind first. Sports in general is a good outlet. Getting out on the ice and playing hockey makes me forget about everything instantly. It's about the sound of blades on the ice, finding the open spaces, seeing the passing lanes, communicating about only things hockey. It sets me free.

I feel about hockey like Dominic Toretto feels about the quarter mile.

Agree
But then sometimes music makes my mind wander to places I don’t wanna go...
