Happy Monday y’all.

If all animals became as intelligent as humans and were miraculously able to speak, what job would be well suited to the following animals:

Rhinoceros
Mosquito
Lobster
Goat
Cat

With all this being said, I'm not the biggest fan of hard work. I like the gentler aspects of gardening but am willing to get down and dirty for tasty food.

Did I mention I'm a pretty good cook?

I don't have any clever answers like HW or Indie, but Rocksteady was a super villain.

Rhinoceros - Security Guard
Mosquito - Lawyer
Lobster - Events Coordinator
Goat - Landscaping Contractor
Cat - Building Inspector

Thank goodness the previous owners established a nice low-maintenance flower bed and landscaping. I have no idea what the flowers are in it and pay someone to come mow and weed. I blame it on not having a lawnmower, but really it’s just one of those things I’m happy to pay someone else to look after. I’d rather work an extra hour or two myself and enjoy the fruits of Jeff’s labors.

And Jeff is an older, retired gentleman with a golf habit - definitely not eye candy. ;)

Rhinoceros - Proctologist
Mosquito - Phlebotomist
Lobster - Football Coach
Goat - Journalist
Cat - Massage Therapist

You have my attention...

What's your signature dish?

It's somewhat of a toss up and it really depends on ones tastes. Some would say my lasagna, in which I use three types of meat, multiple cheeses, two types of homemade sauces and fresh basil, among other herbs.

Others would say the classic chicken and ribs BBQ. KC smoked ribs, hot chicken, all the fixings from jalapeno mac to cornbread to coleslaw. I prefer BBQ, so is opt for this.

We won't get thin in this menu, nor will be using a lot of the garden... I'll think that one through. We could work something "fresher." Do you have an entire weekend?

I've got the rest of the year 🤷

My lasagne is pretty amazing, too. I use bechemel sauce and it's deliciously decadent. I sense a cookoff in our future.

I'm a Master Gardener. I have a half acre vegetable garden here at home plus I run a few demonstration gardens in our community. I grow almost everything and also have a 1500 sqft greenhouse to grow things that aren't technically the right zone but I want them.

That being said, I'd love to hire "help" to maintain the ornamental parts of my garden. I have a group of friends who routinely used to meet at each other's house to garden together which was nice. I look forward to when that can return.

With all this being said, I'm not the biggest fan of hard work. I like the gentler aspects of gardening but am willing to get down and dirty for tasty food.

You’re obviously a great gardener. You posted one pic and a bunch of cucumbers shot right up! ;)

Rhinoceros- LCSW
Mosquito- Ill tempered clerical staff
Lobster- Exotic Dancer
Goat- Exotic Dancer (I like variety)
Cat- Shaman (or Sha-woman)

Excellent question, SMN. Deep. Poignant. ;) Let’s continue with this trend.

What’s your favorite aisle at the grocery store and why? Lest favorite?

What’s your favorite aisle at the grocery store and why? Lest favorite?

Chained is gonna love this soooo much!

I love the import aisle. It's where I pick up most of my ingredients too cook with. I also love a well stocked cleaning aisle (buying cleaning products makes me feel productive, even though I can't clean a house for shit).

My least favorite is the freezer aisle. It's so freaking cold that if I don't have a list, I'm not going in there because I don't need anything that badly. I appreciate American supermarkets that put doors on the freezers. It wasn't that way for me in Aus.

I still find the cereal aisle to be a place of magic and wonder. This is a feeling left over from childhood. We usually couldn’t afford the good cereal so it was a special treat if my mom allowed us to pick one box we wanted.

I don’t even eat cereal anymore, but I still get kind of excited when I splurge and go for some Fruity Pebbles, Honeycombs, Lucky Charms, etc.

I'm gonna copy aussie here, but the international aisle is often my favourite for two reasons. First, I usually need it for recipes but I also love just strolling down it. Second, it's hilarious to see what we deem as international here. Like if it's not a staple thing, check the international aisle. Frank's? The condiment aisle. Sriracha? International. Condensed milk? Cereal. Coconut milk? International. Mexican is branching out to it's own section these days, but the international aisle is like the catch all for "I don't know what to do with this." Plus I like southwest and Asian flavours, so I can find some fun stuff there.

Least favourite? The condiment aisle likely. Only because of the above. Things that would normally reside there don't, but something similar does. It's frustrating AF.

I do like a colourful display of fruit and veg. My favourite is probably the breads, though, even though I rarely buy any.

On international aisles, I came across this recently in France:

There were also Spanish, Italian and German sections, amongst others.

^^I love this pic, Numi!

One of my favorite places to go when I visit somewhere new is the grocery store.
I am enchanted by all the local slices and sauces. The weird things in cans and jars.
Exotic flavors of jam! Novel local proteins!

Produce gets me really worked up. Like, exotic tropical fruits and veggies. Tubers! Can’t forget those. When I find malanga and boniato and purple sweet potatoes I kinda look like the heart-eyes emoji. Heirloom tomatoes that look bizarro? Yes please. Fresh gooseberries?! What do those taste like??

I worked at a farm stand in college for years.
I ❤️ produce.

Oh! And Hotwords - what he said! We couldnt afford fancy cereal when I was a kid either. Those boxes, to my kid mind, looked like the gem stones on display at the smithsonian. :)

And later, in college, tripping on acid, that aisle was by far the most interesting 😂

So you'd be the one trying to explain to Samwise Gamgee that theres tuber's and then there's tater's eh??? :D I still remember the first time I saw purple potatoes and arguring the difference between Jerusalem artichoke and Sunchokes as I'd only known them to be called one of those names lol

Hmmm, lots of girls like the produce section . . . :D

Also, Sexybritches, there is one good thing that comes out of the frozen food section . . . well, two things. ;)

Most favorite? The seasonal aisle. I love getting excited for the holidays when Hallogivingmas treats come out.

I have to agree! Love Hallogivingmas season! And then Half-Price Candy Day the day after the holiday!

Happy Friday.

Sleep. Last night was the first time I crawled into bed before 1:30am all week.
7hr of sleep and I’m feeling glorious this morning.

How much sleep to you need to have a productive day?
Do you have set bedtimes to make sure you’re getting the zzzzz’s?
Weekday sleeping vs weekend, how does yours differ?
And, are you a grouch if you’re tired?
