I have one tie. I’m not sure where it is, possibly rolled up in my dress jacket pocket?

ETA: I just realized my tie is in my profile pic for your viewing pleasure!

Yeah, viewing pleasure absolutely.
And let me help you with your pumpkin.

The week is coming to an end, a little recap of it all.

Was the hardest thing you did this week more mentally or physically challenging?
Can you do it again?
Do you want to do it again?

Mentally challenging. Cold calling. Hate it. Don't really want to do them again, I need to though. So I probably will. 😖🥶

Physically.
Yes.
*whiny* Nooooooooooooooo.

Hmmm. It was a pretty easy week. Mine is a mental challenge. I very rarely physically challenge myself, but we DID just get a gym membership, so that’s bound to change.
Saying yes to the husband spending two consecutive nights with his girlfriend. We’ll see how the nights go to see if I will and want to do it again.

Mentally: A great feeling of being overwhelmed. Could I do it again? Yes. Probably better, experience and all. Do I want to? Fuck no, but will when the time comes.

Physically: Pushed myself on the bike. Can I do it again? Maybe? Yes, but it'll feel much the same, that's the "fun" of these types of physical things... right? Do I want to? Not right now, but yes.

Everyone go check your text messages!

Who are the last 5 people you texted with and whaddya think about that? What does it say about you?

Not names, silly, relationships.

I do most of my social chatting via FB messenger or Skype, and typically only use texting for handling business.

Trekka is a busy bee, so here’s a quick one for the day.

Open up your closet, dress drawer or maybe it’s your clothes basket - what are the main colors of clothes you gravitate towards?
Any colors you refuse to wear?

I'm a summer and I wear mostly 'muddy' mid-tones (vs. 'clear' colors). Pink, purple, brown, blue, green, gray. Some black for going out, and a couple of white pieces. I don't wear orange, and I've only ever found one yellow blouse that was a flattering shade on me. I usually have one red top to wear around Christmas but I don't have one currently.

Mentally. Had a rough week with one of my boys. Spent Tuesday in the ER with him thinking he might have an ulcer or need his appendix out (he didn't, and he's doing better), then Wednesday night he had a major anxiety attack and we walked through that valley together. It's hard to hear the negative self-talk and feel like nothing I say is getting through to his hurting heart. Thankfully, he did allow me to show him physical affection through a shoulder rub, and I think that helped both of us.

Runner up was taking one of my girls to a new therapist and having to act as liaison on behalf of my very anxious, introverted child. She made it through the entire session, but I could tell she was horribly uncomfortable, and when we got outside the tears began to fall.

Can I do it again? I'm pretty confident that I'll have to at some point.

Do I want to? Of course not.

My clothes are mostly black. There’s some blue and gray and olive green in there. Chocolate. A dash of garnet, maybe a splash of burnt orange.
But black is my go-to.
It’s slimming!

I dealt with my own neurochemistry carnival all week and, if given the choice, I’d rather not.

Hey everyone! I WAS SPONTANEOUS LAST NIGHT!
I suck at spontaneity.
I know a lot of you loony bags don’t tho.
So tell your tales of erratic decision making:
What was the last notable spontaneous thing you did?

Notable? Sweet lord, I'm afraid even when I think about it I'm finding it hard to come up with something. I spontaneously went for tacos on Thursday, does that count?

My decisions are commonly misconstrued as spontaneous based on the speed they happen. They are not. I can't help it if others can't process the facts as quickly. So if they are not spontaneous...they aren't erratic. "Spontaneous" actions today...i went to the grocery store and bought a roast. Well chicken was on sale...so i bought that for the freezer. Paid $0.99/lb for both thighs and drumsticks. $6 for 4 meals.

I'm crazy spontaneous.

Last minute drive to Colorado on the fourth of july? Sure!
Feel like In And Out Burger but it isn't available in your state? Let's go to California!
Meet a guy online and decide you want to marry him? Move to America!

The last notable spontaneous thing I did was change careers (again!). I am thankful to have theb ability to be able to do something like that. I recognize most others don't.

I completely feel you on this. I can make huge life choices in minutes without any regret. I've no idea why it's so easy for me 🤷

Just got in from playing in the dirt. Getting my backyard ready for a winter garden (which, down here, looks like a summer garden to most of y’all great northerners). It’s fun, I’m picking out what I wanna try and grow. Planting seeds, potting up seedlings, prepping the soil...

Sooo...
You like yard work? Or, avoid like the plague? Have a green thumb or no?
If you could magically have a green thumb, what would you grow?
If you had a gardener on staff (right?!) what would your yard look like? Small urban farm? English garden? Versailles?
Or do you give zero fucks?

I have the opposite of a green thumb, I could kill, uh, I don't know, some plant that's hard to kill? Instead of trying to get better at that, I've totally went with the "meh, fuck it approach." The backyard is a barren wasteland.

In a perfect world? I'd have a sexy gardener who tends to veggies and herbs, because lord knows I can't, a sweet pool, a hot tub, not a lot of grass, an outdoor kitchen, and some sweet loungers to watch said gardening. I can do all the cooking, I'm not completely inept, just mostly.

I can do the really basic gardening like tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, and squash on my own. Beyond that, I need the know-how of an experienced gardener.

My yard has enough acreage for a 10' x10' garden plot along with a greenhouse or a hoop house. If I could find someone to help me to get all of that going and to coach me then that would be nice.

As it is I plan to put containers out next year for a container garden and I have my eye on a portable greenhouse if I can afford it. We'll see. The only bad thing about gardens here is they have to be fenced in to keep the deer out.

I used to grow this purplish skunky shit back before strains ever existed. Buds the size of my forearms. It was my way in to that world. I no longer dabble in that...but what I do touch, grows better than most. Born and raised on a farm baby...of course my thumb is green. But I rarely invest my time in a garden anymore...i can get decent stuff at the farmers market with zero effort

Stuck in the woods here . . . so need some color. Azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, knockout roses, hostas . . . now if I could only control the deer and rabbits better! :(

I love mowing the lawn. I’ll dig a hole, or build something in the yard, but I’m not much of a gardener. There’s a level of patience involved that I don’t seem to possess.

I like people who grow their own food though. That’s hot. Especially in a sundress (and nothing else).

Always organic.

I'm a Master Gardener. I have a half acre vegetable garden here at home plus I run a few demonstration gardens in our community. I grow almost everything and also have a 1500 sqft greenhouse to grow things that aren't technically the right zone but I want them.

That being said, I'd love to hire "help" to maintain the ornamental parts of my garden. I have a group of friends who routinely used to meet at each other's house to garden together which was nice. I look forward to when that can return.

With all this being said, I'm not the biggest fan of hard work. I like the gentler aspects of gardening but am willing to get down and dirty for tasty food.

Id like it to look neat, green, tropical with some colour
Unfortunately the most effort ive ever put into gardening was growing marijuana plants back in my teens.

😲

I have a yard filled with rock now that I'm back in the desert.

My gardening consists on things in containers on the front porch, it's not much and the sun wasn't my friend. Maybe next year I'll get more maters and jalapeños.
