If we all talk fondly and fondley of Little Sister - do you think she might pop in for a visit?

I miss that girl.

I miss her too and I'd really love to see her decide to come back on Lit and be up to her usual mischief. No matter how you'd think you knew better than to open one of her links...well you would. lol

I think we all have to post a linked pic (that may be dangerous) three times in front of a mirror and she will appear.

We also need Enny here to not click on the links.

It hurts so good :)

Also, are we not supposed to cover ourselves in baby oil before doing it? Have I been doing it wrong all this time?

For some reason, I just can't imagine this. Could you demonstrate in a video, so we can see what you're doing? I mean, then we can tell you if you're doing it wrong. 😍🥰🤗

Nice to see VII off to a good start. I’ll try my best to keep things under control, handing out citations as necessary.

Which makes me think of rules and discipline. We crave rules, we need discipline to follow them but why do we fight it so hard? On one hand we want our independence, on the other we want guardrails to guide us along. Sure there’s always the seemingly unnecessary rules, the silly ones, but for the most part we need order. Don’t we?

Yes, we do need some order and structure, but we need to push against some of the guardrails, too, because as society changes, the way we understand things changes, too. I think it's a necessary push and pull for growth, as individuals and as communities. Isn't that the way we discover the unnecessary rules?

“We adore chaos because we love to produce order” M.C. Escher.

“The only reason the shirt was invented was for the joy of seeing a woman take hers off” Hotwords.

It starts from the top, if you don't have adequate leadership and discipline isn't handed out fairly, then chaos will ensure. When leadership is lacking, most people will get discouraged, stop caring and start disobeying rules.

Most people want to have adequate leadership, that can take care of issues and hand out discipline justly.

When watching Bar Rescue and Dog Whisperer, it's the same deal. If a dog owner doesn't take the role of pack leader and correct unwanted behaviors, then the dog will be unbalanced and chaos will ensue. When a bar owner doesn't assume leadership and discipline fairly, then the employees will run wild and practice bad habits on the job

I think people push hard against rules so that they can find where their boundaries are set and not bendable. I think it’s a way to feel secure and safe once we figure that out for ourselves. That comfort zone is different for everybody so some people need more guardrails than others.

People who question rules and boundaries are an essential check on the balance of power between they who impose and they who are inclined to follow without question.

If not for those who push back, then transgressions become accepted as normal, the center is reset, and the next cycle of "rules" digs deeper into the liberties of the ruled; typically under the guise of "safety".

All I heard was bondage and discipline.

And my mind went to rope and leather.

******

And for today’s question.

I’m a conundrum and way too complicated to explain.
Order, yeah.
I need both my independence and some discipline.
Please let me be a free spirit and then grab me by the throat, pin me down and whisper how bad I am.
Freedom with a firm hand that understands me.

Is.

The.

I’ve only answered one, mind, but still…there are rules!

Which segues into today’s question. Are we talking personal order? Consider me pro order. Rules. Discipline. Structure. It’s how I best function.

My rules. My discipline. My structure.

Other people’s rules?

I will be needing references.

Don't worry, I think every guy and half the women, love that about you :D

I push back, I'm not one to follow the rules. Laws I try to, but rules? Nah, not usually :)

Rules vs Principles - is there a difference?
Laws, I’m a speeder - so rule bender or breaker?

Rules - imposed by another upon you
Principles - imposed by yourself on yourself

How fast, Andretti?

Well, years ago I was pulled over twice in one day.
6 mins apart.
Both times I failed at talking the officers out of a ticket.
Hello Saturday STOP class, I need those points!

I’m comfortable doing... yeah best to say on an fairly empty patch of interstate. 😳
Pretty certain I was a open-road race car driver in a previous life.
I still got it.

I think there are times when rules, principles and morals, all line up. I like to abide by those.

Misdemeanors, not so worried about. I've been know to break the 160mph mark, lol. Felonies? Nope, I'll stay on this side of that line :)

Have you never heard of this technique?

But did he process you thoroughly and then do a background check? :D

Processed twice and no background check, I mean full names are overrated at 2am.
And then a quick exit the next morning minus a pair of panties that were no where to be found.

* I think I was wearing panties that night, maybe not!*
