I’m not a peer pressure guy. The best way to get me to not do something is to try to get me to do it. I tend to swing in the opposite direction from the crowd. I fear mob mentalities and I want nothing to do with them. If, on Lit or anywhere else, someone told me who I can and can’t like, that would be our final conversation.

Even as a kid I was kind of like that with a few exceptions during the school years.

Dumbest thing to fit in? I guess the 8th grade locker room conversations about sex. Apparently every 8th grade guy I went to school with was having mind-blowing sex except me. But I, like everyone else (I assume), was quick to point out that I was, in fact, having tremendous sex with this girl who lived in Pennsylvania—you guys wouldn’t know her. ;)

If that is the Breakfast Club reference I think it is - well done, sir. :D

You can like me. Just fyi. ;)

How are you in regards to peer pressure? Do you cave? Do you stand your ground? Are you different now than when you were younger?

I've never really caved to peer pressure. I'm pretty good at holding my own and being mindful of what's best for me. If I'm acting in a way that's true to myself, I never mind the critics. I also tend to seek friends and relationships with people who share my values and appreciate my choices without judging them. Sounds idealistic, but it has worked for me thus far.

Agreed on the guitar. I was 7. My dad played a little, 2 of my sisters did, but they were already out on their own. I was too stubborn to stick with lessons, so the guy my dad enlisted to teach me bowed out after a couple weeks. He taught me 5 or 6 chords and I learned to follow as he played 4 or 5 songs.
I loved it, but it was frustrating. An F chord when you're 7 is a son of a bitch.

An F chord is a bitch. F and then B. Those are the breaking points. If you can get past those two, you can make it.

Lazy question today...

What is it here that makes you unique? Like, when you're trying to connect with a person here, what do you think draws them to you? What do you use to peacock and get them? Could be physical. Could be a character traits (zzzzzz). What makes you unique?

And if anyone does a humble brag or some lame answer like "I'm not special and I don't feel like I'm anything special , I'm just me" I'm going to call you out. And then I'll tell you why you are unique. And I assure you, you don't want that.

Just say what makes you awesome or unique.

I’m pretty sure my only answers to what makes me unique here would be the disasters I write and then loosely call “poetry,” and my pierced nipples.

Where’s our song dammit.

My closest friends here tell me I'm kind, honest, open, and have a big heart. I hope those things aren't unique to me, though. I get a lot of compliments on my eyes and my voice, so maybe those are unique.

You're trying to disobey the rules. You're borderline getting a slap from pmann.

Zzzzzz character traits

I think what draws people to me (what I hear the most) is that I’m sincere and genuine. I care about people. If i can tell someone is hurting, i reach out. If someone says something fun or interesting, I reach out and let them know. I’m real and vulnerable and i think people can sense that and are drawn to me for that reason.

I’m also fun, witty, have a great smile and ok tits, so I have that going for me as well. Oh and humble. 😆

I think the only thing unique about me here is empathy. I listen, and care more than most about people in general. Some would say too much.

I will go out of my way (even if its subconsciously) to avoid hurting someone's feelings unnecessarily. Which, given my propensity for honesty in discourse, means I far more often say nothing at all than offer opinions to people.

I don't know if that's unique, but it's outside the observable norm as such.

So I earn Zzzzzzz's from Pmann. My personality is far more unique as a distinguishing characteristic than anyrhing physical.

I suppose I could say that I'm interesting to talk to, trusty, and a pretty girl - but none of those are all that unique.

My gut response to this question is that I make people feel good about themselves. Some might say I'm good for an ego boost. I like making others feel special, especially if they are doubting it themselves.

I've been told I have a warm smile, so I'll go with that.

I'm fairly innocent (occasionally naïve), but not dumb. Someone mentioned recently that even when I do some not so innocent things, I still come off as innocent. I'm ok with that :)

I'm beyond organized. If you want to be more productive or get to a zero inbox, I'm your gal!
