Lit mirrors HS to a varying degree, I suppose.

I was the brain in high school. Never studied. Never did homework. Walked in...there is a test? Oh well. Get it back and maybe I missed one. Somehow that progressed into the high school drunk. I didnt use my first drugs until I graduated. Then, I was the doper. It wasnt until much later, I realized it was all the same day. Just replayed. Always seeking approval. Always seeking attention.

Is this place like high school? Did you not just read what I wrote? This is all the same day? Fuck it...it all falls on deaf ears.

I knew Cathy...hell...we even hooked up frequently although we never dated.

Lit is nothing like high school to me. If my high school was like Lit I would have failed intentionally so I could still be there. There is no drama here that I can see, except for the occasional troll, but they have no power other than to show how weak they are by sounding like a pathetic douche. In my high school, there were fights everyday (even during class) it was the norm. I guess after enough fist fights the term “Sticks and Stones” is more of a reality. Sometimes I say that words don’t matter and everyone freaks out and suddenly I’m the most evil person in the room for saying that. But seriously, give me the choice of being called the worst name you can think of or getting punched in the face—I’ll take the name, please. :D

High school sucked. Lit is fun! :)

that's interesting and I found your perspective valuable, because I've always found words to be very hurtful. Perhaps it's a matter of perspective though, I was never punched in the face. The problem for me is that the words that have been used against me have stuck with me for many years afterward. It's easy for others to say let them go but harder to live that.

lit can be quite fun, it can also be toxic I've seen that too.

How do you feel high school behaviour reflects itself here? Do you find it more high school than other aspects of your adult life? How does it compare to your actual high school experience?

I was a volleyball player, cheerleader, and even band nerd in high school. Just like back then, I have acquaintances in all the circles of Lit - but I don’t really belong in any of those circles. The circle most like Lit? High School band! The jokes of band camps and trips being sex-crazed nerd orgies are 100% true.

I don’t know of anywhere else in my adult life that I witness the cattiness of high school more than on Lit. It’s never directed at me so I pay it no mind but it’s there and pathetic to see. I have, though, experienced what Lonelywife mentioned - the info seekers. The level some people go to get fodder for their gossip is astounding. There must be a Lit Burn Book floating around somewhere.

But most importantly, thanks Pmann for finally picking a good song ;)

eh, sultans of swing has something to say about that being the only good song lately, though I'll agree Jeremy is a great song.

but that's the only thing I disagree with in your post ;)

Ok ok that’s fair. I think I missed the Sultans of Swing post. I looked back and it started off with talk of Pmann diddling his instrument and I lost interest ;)

Sorry, she probably has shit taste in music. I assume she listens to angsty punk music. You may ignore her opinion of music.

Am I the only one who watched Little House and got turned on when Pa chopped wood?
