I just saw the Lit Song parody thread and looked at the first post and thought,"wow, that's a lot of effort! No way I'll ever work that hard on a post and honestly posts will probably be too long to hold my attention"
A tad ironic I suppose but I know myself. I'll miss fun posts, well thought out musings but I'm only willing to invest so much time here.

I made the choice, when I returned in January, to be mostly an observer up to a point where I felt lead to engage. And so, up until about a month ago, I didn't even have enough posts for have an avatar. I have my feet beneath me again, and it feels good to be back.
I also made a choice to do some things that I would never have done before. And as a result, I sent a message to a Litster that I have long been fond of, but far too reticent to actually approach. To my utter shock and amazement, she didn't vomit. I call that a win.

. Seriously though... she's a smart girl to have you just as you are.As far as choices go, I have decided to come and go here on a whim and not feel too terribly guilty about long stretches away. I once invested far too much time here and even more emotional energy. I had a very hard time walking away even when it was in my own best interest. Now I flit in when the mood strikes and leave again if I feel like it and am much better for it. I do miss my close lit friends and our daily chats, but my real life is messy and I have to contend with that first.

What's with the choices?
I want both!
The main choice I make when visiting Lit is to make better use of my time here. I take a look at a few threads to which I subscribe and glance at the PG forum page to look for a new thread or two that piques my interest. I don't spend nearly as much time as I once did looking through threads. I'd play more word games if other players were more active when I'm here (my time zone doesn't help...).

Thank you, although being awake at this time over here is not a choice. Using this awake time on Lit is a choice.. I don't visit often these days and post less.

I have made the choice to abide by some Lit rules to be able to have honesty and transparency with my husband about my time here. I like that I'm not hiding anything from him, even if it means that I don't share as much here.
AND I've made the choice to not answer a PM about a daddy/stepdaughter fantasy that came out of the blue. But I'm still waiting for that hawt furry/spreader bar/threesome PM...

I've found Lit works best for me when I carry it lightly. I come on when I have the time and inclination, dip my toe here and there, absorb the funny and the sexy and the sensual, and then toddle off on my merry way. (For those folks who I've become close friends with us, we take the more immediate conversations to email, which for me, unfortunately because of my job, is an always on proposition. But, who doesn't like getting a sexy or funny email in the middle of the work day.)

To be honest, I don't have a standard per se. My mood changes with the opportunities presented and the stimuli available. There are times I need a beautiful Litster to help and times a story does the job. It all depends really.

Seriously, I don't know how y'all find time to hold down jobs.
For me, motivation/inspiration varies. But there is a certain skilled tradesman, who I may have mentioned before once or twice, that often plays a role. He never disappoints.
When I find myself needing release right when I get home from work, one of my favorite things to do is to have my alone time/thoughts, but then call my husband and have him listen while I finish. It's especially fun if he's still at the office and has to try to act normal.
