Unless it's a good brand, I leave it. I've been to a few that have Ferragamo and I always take those. They smell so nice.

I always take it. What we don't like is donated to the homless shelters. They always are in need of that kind of stuff.

I'm one of those pain in the ass hotel guests. Hotels are required to discard all soaps and shampoos daily and replace them. They throw them out. When I check into a hotel, I always ask if they subscribe to the Clean the World service. This organization recycles bars of soap into new ones and sends them to India and other countries where hygiene issues cause disease and death. If they dont, I encourage them to. I always take all that stuff with me and bring it to a hotel local to me that I know participates. It's a thing with me...

I've always been very particular about the soaps/shampoos I use in the past. Certain soaps simply don't make me feel/smell clean. Fragrance soaps usually burn off and leave me smelling foul. So, instead of taking the chance, I just bring my own soaps/shampoos.

Currently, I've become more allergically sensitive to perfumes, so all the more reason I use "pure" unscented soaps.

Interesting posts.

Do you all hang up your towel for reuse or drop it to the floor for a fresh one the next day?

Also, when you have a wild night of sex in the hotel room and you make a mess of the sheets, cum stains and wetness all over the place, do you tip the housekeeping staff extra. Ever leave a note? Ever get a note, maybe from the hotel guests next door?

I recycle towels, however I prefer new sheets.

As for wild hotel sex... Is that actually a thing?
I guess I travel for business a lot, so I don't see hotels as sexy places. They are mere inconveniences in my life.

That's a wonderful idea. I wonder if we do that - I'm going to check.

I'm a hanger-upper.

It's been so long since I've had sex in a hotel room - I know back in the day when I was wild and crazy I did leave a few "Sorry" notes. Never tipped back then though.

I know from talking with some of our maid service staff people don't tip enough for the messes they leave behind. People really should. Five bucks goes a long way to saying you're sorry. Twenty if it's a suite.

Now I want to have sex in a hotel room .... :D

Most hotels nowadays insist on reusing the towels (and sheets) at least 2-3 days. If you leave it on the floor, they will hang it up for you, but not replace it, so...
Bed sheets likewise, they will reuse your sheets for 2-3 days before replacing them. You leave them in a heap, they will neatly refit them on your bed.

Personally, I have always hung up the towels, because a) you dont know when the last time they properly cleaned the floor 1) I had an ex gf who worked as cleaning staff at a hotel and used to tell me about the host of unsavory things cleaning staff normally do (or don't do), and b) if you leave a towel clumped up in a ball while moist and warm, it's accelerating breeding of bacteria. Washing doesn't guarantee 100% clean so the more you can do to reduce bacteria from breeding is only going to help.

As to the other question, I have always been exceedingly fastidious and whether out or at home, always had a way to "catch" and not leave any stains. Sweat, that's another matter entirely.

Is Sunday morning a time for deep thoughts? Maybe. Maybe not.

Is Sunday morning a time for intense pleasure? Is there a bad time?

What is Sunday morning to you?

Usually it means a long morning in bed together, yoghurt with nuts and honey, drinking coffee/tea, browsing Lit (although Lit is relatively quiet then) and reading the newspapers, commenting on stories we find interesting. Sometimes erotic pleasures too, but we're more inclined to play in the evenings.

When I was in college, I worked Summers as a housekeeper in a hotel. Often, the laundry staff would go in ahead of us and pull the sheets and towels to wash rather than waiting for us to bring them down to the laundry room. They would also pull any tips left by guests. I always tip housekeeping, but if I can't hand it to them directly I leave it with the front desk when I check out.

I'm sure your "business" lands you in hotels a lot. Hotels. Dark alleys. Back of cars.

But yeah, I suspect you probably would find hotels unsexy. :D

Sunday is my favorite day of the week. I like sleeping in and lazy, unhurried Sunday morning sex, breakfast and coffee while listening to All Songs Considered. I like to cook on Sunday afternoons and get things ready for the week ahead. It just makes life easier. I dislike it when we have a really busy Sunday with outside commitments and my normal routine gets interrupted - I feel off for the remainder of the week.

With regards to yesterday's topic - I don't travel as much for work as I did 10+ years ago, so hotel stays are now are for a getaway of some kind typically. I like hotel sex. There's an element of naughtiness or at least potential for naughtiness that I enjoy. I'm probably a little less inhibited for whatever reason.

I always tip housekeeping. And I ask for new towels and sheets because I like feeling pampered. :D

When I was younger, sundays were a day for extra thought, then later for extra amounts of sex. Nowadays, sundays are just another day of the week, that usually results in all the parking spaces around my place getting filled up in the morning hours, and if I go out during this time, I'll have to park two to three blocks away.

Does gambling make any sense to you? What are you willing to risk to get all you want? Is it greed or the thrill?

Taking chances is the stuff of life for me. The motivation is a mix of excitement/thrill and the possibility of reward, whether tangible or intangible.

As for actual gambling as in a casino - I will occasionally for the entertainment factor, but the laws of probability are what they are and as such they're pretty unforgiving. Still, it's like winning the lottery. Your odds are minuscule if you play. They're non-existent if you don't. Can't get hit by lighting unless you play golf.

Personally, I have a very low risk tolerance when it comes to gambling my money. I set a limit of what I'm willing to lose as a cost of entertainment and I don't go beyond that. If I win, great. If I lose my $20 in the nickel slots, I walk. :p

But I loooooooooove gambling with someone else's money. I had a very generous benefactor one night at the Bellagio blackjack tables who gave me some chips because it was my birthday. I was up and down, but ultimately won enough to pay him back (which he kindly refused) and enough to buy a pretty new purse from the Bellagio stores. That kind of gambling could get me addicted. ;)

To me, gambling is a losing proposition to begin with. As Suz_anne pointed out, you have to allot how much you are willing to lose to begin with. I don't mind a set amount of risk, but beyond that is just foolishness.

It's not greed or thrill, it's just an understanding that nothing ventured means nothing gained. There is a certain risk in almost any endeavor.

I've gone into a casino once before, I put a set amount of money in one pocket, and anything won goes into the other pocket. Winnings never gets touched. That way no matter what, you walk out a winner. I actually won at a one arm bandit and was rather embarrassed at all the hoopla as a result.

I really don't get a kick out of gambling, whether it be with my money or someone else's money.

I play blackjack in a casino about 3-4 times a year. I like that it actually takes some skill to do well in it, though skill doesn't always pay off. I don't bet high stakes; i can't afford to. No way will I do online blackjack; major recipe for disaster

If gambling with money, I'm willing to set aside a set amount and take a calculated risk in hopes of winning. That's a thrill.

Taking a risk of loosing something that has significant importance to me because of harebrained idea or decision, no way. Straight up greed there.

I love gambling. But hate losing money. So, I don't gamble much. I went to vegas a few years ago and didn't gamble at all. If I go on a cruise, I might set aside a little bit of money- $50 or so.

I totally get the allure. But I'm quite good at math and I realize that, aside from something like blackjack, roulette or craps, the odds are just not in your favour. They really aren't in your favour on those either. Just almost attainable.

I will pay to play in things like poker. I've done buy ins and such for Hold Em games. If you can read people and you know a bit about statistics, you can gain a big advantage. That's why a guy like Phil Hellmuth has 14 WSOP bracelets. But I'm only an amateur at that.

I used to pay for a guy at work for his buy ins and he would split the winnings with those of us who would pay. He was really good and I would pay like $30 and make $150. I did that a few times and then he realized he was good enough without our help. Lol.

I'm with Pmann, I went to Atlantic City a few times for blackjack and it seems like just when you get going that they'll switch dealers and wipe you out. Had a dealer get 20 or higher for 12 out of 13 hands. It was insane. I can't imagine wasting any more money on it. If I wanted to throw money away I'd at least throw it at a stripper.

What if the blackjack dealers were strippers? I'm just brainstorming here.
