Happy Sunday. since for Christians Sundays are the "religious" day of the week, this topic is most relevant on a Sunday (assuming there's more Christians than other religions or atheists on this thread).

When was the last time you truly prayed? No need to share what you prayed on just when was the last time?

I am an atheist, and, though I was brought up as a Christian, I don't think I ever genuinely prayed even then, although sometimes I pretended to in order to keep the grown-ups happy.

I don't suppose screaming Oh God counts..in which case another atheist checking in

I may believe in karma and take meditative moments, and I live my life with honour and integrity and a belief that I must effectively work for the greater good

but an overall omnipotent deity in the shape of man, as defined by man ..no

I'm a lapsed Methodist married to a non-practicing Catholic. It's been awhile.

Monday morning and I've hit the ground running. Quick hitter this morning:

"Why on earth did you ever do that?" When was the last time you heard that, what had you just done and how did you respond?

Last week from my niece. I brought a dessert that could have been named "orgasm by chocolate" for dinner, and forgot that my sister in law is allergic. D'oh...

Honestly, the last time I remember hearing that was when I was 16, sitting in the ER after rolling/totalling my mom's car.

I cried.

hrm...

I cant remember the exact conditions on hearing "Why on earth did you ever do that?" from when I was 6, to 8. I didn't like hearing it, or worse, having to explain why, and replying with only a dumb look was a sure sign of something worse to follow, so, I generally didn't do stupid things later on in life. Or have a very well thought out reason of "why."

I was mostly a good kid and gave them little to have to question, and if I did something questionable, they knew that no matter what punishment they might give me, if I thought it was a good enough reason, then NO punishment would make me think different.

Avatars/Profile pics, some people change them like days of the week and some never change, and some just never put one up. Is there a difference to you between the avatar and the profile pic or are they just two pictures? If you change, what prompts it? And if you don't, is it because of a particular reason or is it that it's just easier to leave the ones up that you have.

It confuses the shit out of me when people change their avatars. I get it...variety is the spice of life, changing of the seasons, etc. But to me, the av becomes part of their ID and my little woman brain just can't process change.

:D:rolleyes:;)

I tend to use the profile pic as a semi-secret place to hide pictures of me. Most of the time, it's empty. I don't like to be on display all of the time (not at all an exhibitionist), so the avatar speaks more to my personality than my looks. I've changed it a few times, but the princess suits me.

I rarely look at others' profiles. For public conversation on the boards, I don't feel it necessary. If a friendship seems to be developing, I'll peak at the profile. I'm generally looking for two things: age (I've no interest in being a cougar) and cock pics (It is always my hope that there will NOT be one on display).

Seriously boys, the cockatars and profile peckers are not necessary. I'm sure your massive shlong is a great source of pride for you, but it loses some of it's appeal when it is on display for all to see ... constantly. There is an entire forum for exhibitionists to share their private bits, a forum where it will be appreciated, praised, even worshiped. Go there, post your junk from every angle. Then come back to the playground and entice us with your wit and humor. Make us want to see it. Then lead us to your gallery of artistic erections.

Sorry for the rant. I've been confronted with one too many cockatars this morning and I haven't finished my coffee. Once the caffeine is coursing through my veins, I'll go back to silently rolling my eyes and ignoring them.

I get what suz anne said about it being harder to recognize someone by their profile pic as often as they change clothes, but I'm a creative soul, and more so, my avatar tells my moods... or thats what I like to think.

As for my profile pic, I'll go along with vicious on posting pics of me, though I dont like to do that often as Im sure some people just want to use that to use as a dart board.

my pet peeve with avatars is when people use other people's pictures instead of their own. Less so when it's a famous person, but only marginally. Be proud of who you are, or dont post anything at all is my thought.

Used to change the AV but keep it same now. It's an identity piece. As for the profile picture, I do like it when ladies share something sexy in that space. The bad part is it usually causes them unwanted attention from the wrong kind of people.

I don't put up a profile picture any more as I feel if someone really wants to know what I look like then she will let me know.

I always lurk on this thread, but never really know where or when to hop in. I think this topic is a good place to start.

For me, my AV and profile pics aren't something I change too often. I changed them here and there when I was taking pics to post on the Am Pic threads. I've slowed down over there, and as a result my AV and profile pics have stayed the same for a while now.

I like to use an AV that represents me. I think it gives others a good look at me without revealing too much. I like the fact that it's a bit of a tease pic, seeing as I like to flirt and have fun. My profile pic has always been somewhat to the AV, but a little more revealing. Almost a token of appreciation for those who check out my profile.
