If I chase something, I want it. I dismiss a lot of things that aren't important. When something is important enough to pursue and I get it... then it is almost always worth it.

*shakes tail at Pmann and then darts off ;)

There are very few things that I *really* want in life. I'm not a needy person per se.

When I've wanted something for a long time, and the thought has persisted, I typically find that I really enjoy whatever it is, whether that be a possession, hobby, idea, friendship, conquest, etc.

I was raised to sleep on an idea and if it still persists in the morning, then go act on it. It's served me well, and I am very deliberate in my actions and find my needs are pretty much fulfilled.

The Value of Emptiness

Thirty spokes are joined in the wheel's hub.
The hole in the middle makes it useful.

Mold clay into a bowl.
The empty space makes it useful.

Cut out doors and windows for the house.
The holes make it useful.

Therefore, the value comes from what is there,
But the use comes from what is not there.

Tao Te Ching, Chapter 11

Unless it's a dildo.....

LOL - except the value doesn't come from the dildo, it comes from the emptiness that it fills.

If that was the case, there'd be no need for the dildo. The value comes from it filling up the space....while true the space needs to first exist but if the value wasn't in filling it , women would be in constant orgasm from the space itself.

But, the dildo itself is simply an inanimate object. If you place it on a shelf it has no value. Without the emptiness then it cannot obtain the value (if the value is pleasure or orgasm). There are many things that can fill the emptiness - inanimate and animate - and though different, they are interchangeable. The value arises from the emptiness.

Even from a male point of view, the penis brings us value when it fills the emptiness - the emptiness of a lover, the emptiness of a hand, the emptiness of a mouth.

^best philosophical debate ever. EVER! please, do go on, gentlemen... :)

I'm pretty happy when my penis empties my bladder.....then again I hate a full bladder.

The philosophy of the empty bladder. Empty - good, comfortable. Full, bad, uncomfortable.

Life is weird like that, upon deep contemplation life is emptiness (in the Tao, that is why it says the way of the valley, the feminine force, is of the highest value).

Sex is about filling the emptiness, love is also about filling the emptiness - that is why we often get so confused about both of them. We mistakenly confuse the thing (the object or the person) with their value (their emptiness or their potential).

In a great sexual encounter, two beings (or more) fill the emptiness with passion, with connection, with mad humping in the dark of the night. We seek the value of life by filling it, often never recognizing that the value arises from the emptiness - not the thing.

But joy can not be achieved from emptiness alone. It needs something. It can be part of the equation but an empty pussy is doing anyone any good ;)
