Omg, I wrote them a strongly worded email too! I went in one day and the rental movies were literally just in piles. They were rebuilding shelves or something, which is understandable, but it was like that for something like 2 weeks. So I fired off an email. A couple days later I went back and it looked like an entirely different store with all different people working there. I hope I didn't get a bunch of people fired.

I hated their late fee policies. Those shitsippers are the worst- they really and truly are. I remember when they had their bullshit "no late fees" policy... I wanted to sue them for false advertising. Because, basically, they still had late fees. They just didn't start for one week after the due date. And when I was a teen I almost got in trouble for renting some tit flick from there because of this. This is a good story....

I was too young to rent rated R movies and I was maybe 16 or so. Well, I wanted to see some skin. But I can't rent R or NC-17 because I was too young. However, I could rent, NR (not rated). Often times skin flicks were just that. So I rent Delta of Venus. I remember the name. Because those bastards, on my week of "no late fees", call the house answering machine and say, "Excuse me, Mr and Mrs Pmann, Delta of Venus is 2 days overdue." No late fees, my ass! My mother says, "Do you know what they're talking about?" I say no, not a clue. So I get my happy ass down there and return it quickly. Nothing else came of it but damn. They were some assholes.

I love driving by and seeing a place where a Blockbuster used to be. You can still see their moldy logo on the stucco.

One time in college we rented Muppets In Space with our friend's Dad's Blockbuster card. We got stoned, watched it, and promptly forgot about it.

Months later he called, furious, because of some exorbitant late fee-- in the ballpark of $80? And we had to fess up that, yeah, we were degenerates who used his card to irresponsibly rent Muppet movies.
