Easy: Teenaged Trekka was gifted a life-sized cardboard cut-out of a big-haired, leather-pantsed Bon Jovi, a la the Slippery When Wet era. I awoke Xmas day and he was waiting for me in my living room, wearing a Santa hat. 'Twas a Christmas Miracle...❤️💚

edited for content (unless you mean the whole group?)

At first, I would say I never had any one Christmas present that stood out more than another, but then I considered my first bicycle (a Schwinn "sting ray" three speed with a banana seat, in two-tone green), but that was hardly boxed, or wrapper and stood next to and not under the xmas tree, so I would return to my prior statement

The best gift I ever received was my first electric guitar. It was a Fender Stratocaster. I was 8 years old. I loved that guitar so very much. I had it for a few years before I upgraded.

Mine was a Sony Walkman the year it first came out. I still remember how thrilled I was and ran to my friend's house to show her.

I think I just really dated myself too, LOL.

Mine was a toy castle with little plastic knights. I played the heck out of that thing growing up. It was awesome.

you "upgraded" from a Strat. .

OK.

I'm sensing a first world problem here....

What did you get? A Les Paul?

This probably dates me too but I remember getting the first ever Gameboy. I was so excited. Hours and hours were spent playing that thing. I don't want to brag but I'm pretty much a Tetris expert.

I don't know why, but I still remember my record on that senselessly addicting game......191. Couldn't crack 200.

Barbie dolls. The year I was nine I wanted four very specific Barbies. That was the year after my mother told me there was no Santa. She told me privately (I was the oldest) that four dolls was too many. Christmas morning there were four dolls! I was so happy. :)

They weren’t wrapped. That still counts!

I played Tetris last night! The Gameboy was one of my favourite gifts too. I loved it. Ate batteries like a beast, though.

I could never get past 200 either. It's impossible almost. I did do it on my calculator. My TI-89 had Tetris on it. I might not have learnt much in differential equations, but I cracked it on my calculator. I do believe it was a just a bit slower than on NES.

Apologies for boring people in advance

sure.
I'm interested in how good ( or bad) your instrument tastes are..:D

I'll give you the current list I own (for the most part).

Electrics:
1970 Gibson ES150W
PRS Artist Series Custom Brazilian Rosewood (It is a pink guitar!)
Parker Fly Deluxe
G&L ASAT Z3
G&L Legacy Deluxe SSH

Basses:
Steinberger
Modulus Quantum 6 String
Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray
Custom Fretless

Acoustics (these are my true loves):
McPherson 5.0 Redwood and Rosewood
Santa Cruz
Lowden F32
Mervyn Davis Classical
Takamine Classical
A custom shop guitar which shan't be named
1960s Harmony Sovereign
1970s Alvarez

I have a couple other random instruments... mandolin, banjo, cellos. But most aren't high end.

Oddly... I've only ever owned one Les Paul. I like them, but I'm a much bigger fan of PRS.

Related to the Nintendo talk... one of the worst gifts I ever received was one I begged for as a kid. It was the Power Glove. I wanted it so badly. My parents got it for me and I was sooooooo excited. But, no luck concerning it actually working. It was such a disappointment. I felt so bad because my parents got it for me and I loved it, until I tried to use it on Mike Tyson's Punch Out. It never worked well.

Basically, they tried to do the Wii before the technology was there. What a bust.

Effectiveness is secondary to how bad ass you looked wearing it...probably.

There was also a mat...I can't even remember what it was called.

Oh, as 7 year old Pboyy, I looked bad to the bone. But, not good at video games.

Yes, the mat was for the track and field game. That worked a little better.

Quick hitter this morning:

Best Christmas present ever received? And an actual present, wrapped, in a box, under the Christmas tree.

My mom took an old wine box, the kind with the slide off lid. On the other side of the lid she painted a chess/checkerboard. Inside were little wooden figures that she'd carved out and painted them black and white. Also, black and white checkers.

That's my kind of gift...something where love has been poured into it.

Such a soft and genuine heart in this one.

I was the youngest child, and got hand me downs a lot. Clothes, toys... When I was 6, I got a small gift box from my dad under the tree. Inside was a Keychain with the letter D on it, and there was a key on it. He had to show me. He had taken an empty storage room in the basement of our house and converted it into a playroom just for me. With toy appliances, a mini table and chairs, the works... and the key was so I could lock it up when I was done, and nobody could come in unless I invited them. My dad was the best. We sold that house and moved two years later, but he really understood that I needed something of my own.
