 Hi, I would like to print a story here, but I do not understand the directions for doing so. I could E-mail it in, but I would rather not if I don't have to. The directions gave three other methods of transmitting my story, could someone please explain how they submit they're stories for me, please.

Thanks, treeklr87

Well...

I assume rather than "print" a story you want to "submit" a story to the editor to be posted. On that assumption you have a several choices.

1) You can email the story. This is not recommended unless you have some special formatting that absolutly needs to be kept. The problem is, the emailed stories are the last to be reviewed. You may wait several weeks before it ever gets posted.

2) You can upload the story. There are a couple of things on this. To upload the story it must be either a "plane text" file (.txt), a Wordpad file with an .RTF extension or an MSWord file (.doc). Near the bottom of the submission page there is a box to up load the file. Use the browse function to locate the file on your hard drive, select the file and press OK.

3) I find it easyest to simply do a mass copy from my document to the text box on the submission page and hit SUBMIT.

In the case of #2 or #3 above you may never, under any circumstances, start a thread asking how long it takes to be posted.

Good luck.

perhaps...

perhaps you could copy and paste it into a post like this one and direct whoever you were wanting to have read it (editor?) to the address of the post.

if you're looking to submitting it online, on literotica, for everyone to read, then you need to start at www.literotica.com/stories

go to "login" at the top

click "submissions" on the left side

now underneath "submissions" is "submit work" - click that

follow the directions - enter the title, enter the category, enter any keywords you want. you can 1) copy and paste your story into the blank place or 2) upload the word document. fill in any notes you need to leave the webmasters about your submission, and click "submit"

next you wait between 4 and 6 days for your story to show up.

Thank you, that was much easier to understand. And no, I won't ask how long anything is here on Literotica. :p

Okay, a little step by step that assumes you don't know how to do any of it. No offense intended. :)

Go to the story index page here <-- if you click this link, it will open in a second browser window so you can switch back and forth between the two. At the top, just under the MILF Hunter banner, it says login / sign up. Click login. Because you are logged into the bulletin board, you are also logged in to your author's control panel.

From there you see a list of things you can do on the left. In the middle is your name, when you last logged in, the date you joined, and your email. Below that is a link in blue that says "Submit work". Click that.

Now you have a choice, do you want to submit a story or a poem? I'm going to tell you how to do a story. A poem works almost the same way, just a little less involved. Okay, so click "Submit Story".

It's pretty self-explanatory, but I'll explain anyway. First, you have to click the check-box that you agree to the paragraph above it. It's important to actually agree with it.

Next, give the story a title and a description. The description is the little blurb next to the title on the story pages that kind of gives a little advertisement/description of what the story is about. Below that is a drop down box of categories, pick the most appropriate one. The keywords are what the search engine looks over. So if someone was looking for a story involving oh, the office, they'd go to the search engine, type in "office" and get a list of stories with office in the keyword area or in the title. It's a good idea to include a few that you think would help people find your story with a search.

Now is where you can make your choices. You can email the story and type in "The story has been emailed" in the story text box. Emailing should be your last resort because it takes so long to get them posted. You can either copy and paste your story from your word processor into the text box or you can scroll down below the text box and upload an .rtf, .txt, or .doc file onto the server. Do the upload if you have italics and you don't want to stick the HTML in there yourself. If you have no special formatting, then copying and pasting will take you less time.

Formatting the story: It's best if you format it with paragraphs like the ones in the post. No indentation with a space between paragraphs. Make sure your dialogue is paragraphed, too.

You can find the guidelines and other helpful essay on the writer's resources page, which you've been to, I think. I hope this helped and didn't insult you. I didn't mean to do that.

I think he has enough information to get the story submitted. I'll take care of it when he writes to ask how long ...... you-know-what.

Ps. Yes, I know he said he wouldn't ask that. We all just KNOW he will, though, don't we?
