Literotica not searchable from Google anymore

Hi there,

since a couple of days i've noticed that you cannot search for stories and members via Google. The search results show only some wild advertisement-bloated mirror sites of literotica (like calmat . xyz / www_literotica)

I'm not sure if it is intentional or not, but it's really annoying.

Really? I just tried it and saw several Literotica stories. I just typed in a story name and the Lit pages popped up.

Do you have a safe search activated or something?

You are probably using Google.de - Literotica did get kicked out of Google.de a few days ago. Germany has pretty strong laws for protection of kids and teens. Use Google.com or Google.at for searching Google for Literotica content.

the german forum has been heavily edited for years.

perercarson is behind this.

speech there is censored regularly.

many times there are legitimate security reasons. shit. isis* could be using the german forum to leave each other messages and we, the general internet public, would never be the wiser. i bow to manu and laurel when it comes to the editing of writings on this site. governments will censor as needed.

Just to be clear. I am pretty sure that it is not the forum, that Literotica got out of Google.de and it although is not underage stories. The problem are X-rated stories in general. All kind of X-rated sites in Germany have to have an age verification system to be legal. Or be operated like Literotica from other countries. Than worst case is being kicked out of Google ...

I think it does make sense to have an age verification system. You wouldn't let a kid into a shop selling X-rated movies in the real world. In the "World Wide Web" it is just not a working solution and that makes it dumb ...

The problem I have with this comparison is that the red light districts were here way before parents thought they could let their kids go online. It's like sending your kids all alone to a shady red light district and then complaining that they see inappropriate things there and then demanding that those disgusting adult entertainment businesses change their advertising so you can continue sending your kids there.



If you want to protect children, website owners can label their content 'safe for children' and then filter software can filter everything out without a label. Problem solved.
