I truly wish I didn't need to make this post, but it seems quite probable that many of you may not have heard that Literotica has suffered a tragic loss. Joesephus has been killed in an auto accident in Latin America, shortly after attending his mother's wedding. He would have celebrated his 26th birthday later this month. Joesephus was newly married and he yearned for the day when his wife could return home safely from active duty in Iraq. He would soon have received a Masters degree from a prominent Texas university, where he was an outstanding athlete as well as an excellent student.

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Joesephus personally, exchanging correspondence with him and editing some of his stories quickly convinced me that he was a genuinely good guy, as well as a writer of great potential. I miss him deeply, as, I’m certain, will countless others.

English was not his native language but he was determined to share his unique view of life, and he was succeeding. Joesephus created a sizable body of stories that deeply touched thousands of readers here at Literotica, and he was planning many more which, sadly, we will now be unable to share with us.

The body of work he created in an amazingly short time can be found at:

Let me be the first to say from those here on this forum:
My heartfelt sympathies and prayers go out to His family, and His friends here on Lit.

Wow. 26? That's heartbreaking.

Wow this is heartbreaking to hear.... I would pray for the poor guy but I'm not religious.... Instead I'll cross my fingers and hope that he's in a better place somewhere, or at least at peace.

I received an email from Josephus' friend/ex-roommate last week notifying me of his passing. I was absolutely shocked and heartbroken. He was an incredible author, editor and person; I was very fortunate to get to know him a little when we worked together on some stories and shared excitement over positive feedback.

As I told his friend, Lit--and the world--will feel the loss of such a brilliant mind and heart. I have no doubt he'd have gone on to do some truly amazing things. He just had 'it' - that special combination of intellect, charisma, humility, passion and drive that allows one to make a very real, positive, widespread impact.

I'd strongly encourage anyone who's not familiar with Josephus' work to seek out and enjoy some (or all) of it. I can almost guarantee it will be a great reading experience AND a wonderful way to honor a fine human being. From what I understood from our conversations, I'm sure Josephus would be thrilled to know readers are continuing to delight in his work and share in his love of the written word.

Rest Easy, Friend. :rose:

26 is no age at all. How truly ironic that Josephus has been worrying so much about his wife in Iraq while she imagined him to be safe at home.

Like LittleKitten, I won't offer prayers for fear of a stray lightning bolt but my thoughts and sympathy are with Josephus' wife and family.

My thoughts are with his familly and those friends he knew him, and especially his wife I hope she is granted some measure of comfort through all of this.

What a tragic loss! My thoughts and prayers are with his family, and I will definitely check out his stories on Lit. :rose:

That's so sad. My condolences to his family and friends. I'd love to read his work but the link isn't working.
