You have left me no other choice but to request to have my Montana Summer series pulled from the site.

Oh, Lordy, of course you have other choices. As popular as your "Montana Summer" series obviously is, why let Scouries get to you about it? The list does no harm--and is only being used to (successfully) jerk some people around. Besides, this game eats up Scouries's time to no real effect. I'd suggest just chilling with it.

Well, fine. Scouries is laughing his ass over it, and it seems more than a little dumb to me. But, they are your stories. God, it's only a list of statistics that are there anyway and having your stats included only "legitimizes" the project in your mind (which Scouries is successfully screwing with).

I just know I'll be up all night trying to figure out what vote removal has to to with story deletion (or anything else discussed on this thread, for that matter).

But I do think that someone is full of beans to claim they are pulling stories (especially ones with a good voting history) over this tempest in a thimble. Just like when they say that the ratings here mean nothing to them. Guess we'll have to see if this is what happens.

The Top Lists are produced by the site with no ulterior motive. Your list on the other hand is for your own self engrandizement. The voting has been turned off on my Montana Summer series, and with any luck, the series will be pulled from the site tonight. Now, please remove me from your list.

As long as he's played you like he has up to this point, there is no logic in taking you off the list as long as your stories still register above 1,000 votes--and even if the stories get dropped altogether (which I'll believe when I see it done), he'll just adjust the wording to "stories that have hit 1,000 votes at one time or another"--which has some legitimacy, as people claim they take their stories off Lit. when they sell them (although I've never been asked to do that in the 150+ stories I have posted at Lit. that have sold to other sites).

Because he's just using what is really a "nothing" action to see just how much he can stir the club up here. And he's doing a brilliant job on the "Montana Summer" stories and you and a few others. When the stories are gone, he's won--and still doesn't intend to take your name off the list, enjoying your whining about "nothing" immensely. It's a classic Jerry Seinfeld joke.

I dont bluff, I forwarded you the PM I sent to Laurel this morning to remove Montana Summer Ch 01 - 16 from the site.

And I pointed out that you could delete the stories yourself if you really wanted them deleted (and can do so now). There's no telling if Laurel will even open the PM. You have no need to PM Laurel on it for any other reason than to try to get her to delete Scourie's lists now--and whenever they reappear. (Which I think would be a good idea.) Again, if your only intent was to do what you said you were doing, you didn't/don't need to PM Laurel.

But, no need to justify anything to me. I tried to point out that you were letting yourself be jerked around and moved into a corner. I'm not part of this--but I don't think anyone but Scouries wins by the deletion of the "Montana Summer" series (which I said earlier--and which is a much nicer thing to say than you've ever said about me or my work). If I see Scouries do/say something I think is stupid, I'll comment on that too--just as I have done before.

What you've done is let Scouries maneuver you into dropping a top-ranking novel series here--and he's not even going to stop needling you--or, I'll bet, drop you from his list (which I've already explained). How in the hell does that advantage you and "serve him right"? (Rhetorical question because I know the answer)

I keep thinking of that scene in Moonstruck, where Cher slaps Nicholas Cage around and screams "Snap outa it!" (I think that a lot in reading this forum. But it's why I still read it--the entertainment value.)

I will make one suggestion of what I think the best choice is (but certainly not because you've ever been nice to me here). Don't pull the stories; tell Scouries just to go screw himself; ignore the list--it's a study in "nothing" and its only value to Scouries is in how he can use it against you and others; and then just don't rise to his subsequent baiting except with light humor that turns the silliness back on him briefly and then moves on.

Don't know about the stories, because I haven't read them--and I'm afraid your club slams stories just as part of their attack on other posters, so I can't take your word for the quality of his. But what he does seems to work for him fine--especially the lack of an attempt to hide the alts. It seems to drive your clubbers (or, as Cloudy puts it "regulars") wild--so he does it. No mystery there.

Sure, just like you and the rest of your club do here in following me around and being nasty. The difference is that I not only pointed to the sinkhole Darkside was moving to, but then also told him how to climb out of it after he'd stepped into it. You and your lot do nothing but bite hands of nonclubbers. As I said elsewhere, all of my responses will be three steps below the mean and nasty level of what you clubbers are tossing at me. So, you can take your "nasty and mean" comments and put them where the sun don't shine.

And, no, I won't quit playing with either Scouries or you as long as both of you continue doing what you do. You don't either make the rules--or, in the case of some, like "Lady" C--follow the rules established by the Web site.
