The moonman resurfaced on the site yesterday. After a long, long time away. Of course interested I pulled out my moonman file. And found this list. Dated September 2007. The Top 75 Highest Rated INCEST stories of all time...

And what an interesting list. It certainly highlights the changes that have occurred on the site in the last five years.

First off check out the vote totals. Only 3 out of the 75 had amassed 1000+ votes. The most votes any story had was the 1374 nikki’s brother and sister story had. The only other stories over a thousand were a chapter of the moonman’s famous saga and a youbaboy bestseller. Back in those days there were only 60 stories on the whole site that had hit the 1000 vote plateau. But look at it now.

The present top 75 highest rated INCEST list boasts 50 stories with over 1000 votes. Including many stories with over 2000 and four stories with over 5000 votes. Votes, once an afterthought among AHers, has now become the most important measure of success on the site.

Its also interesting to note that scores have fallen over the years with the increase in votes. Even though another 10,000 incest stories have been submitted to the site even the top of the list scores have fallen (FYI latest stats show that overall incest stories scores have fallen by an average of 0.17 over the last 5 years).

The next observation I can make is that the list has almost totally changed! I could only find five stories (in red) that are still on the list in 2012! WTF? Its an extraordinary turnover. Where did they all go? What happened to them?

Well a good number are no longer on the site (ie the 12 by the moonman were taken down). The stories by Susan2002, the #3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 have been battered are now are rated between 4.74 and 4.79. Which is a big drop given the number of votes they had back in 2007!

The one thing that hasn’t changed (unfortunately) is the predominance of “chapters” on the list compared to complete stories. Although MANU has taken my advice on many things so far he’s been resistant to the idea of giving one score (an average or weighted average) to all the chapters of a story and to list a story no more than once on the Top Lists. Hopefully he’ll rectify this oversight soon.
