Lit-togethers...

Thanks for pointing out the Hurricane season Misty  ...you'd never know I've been a Fl. resident my whole life
I don't know what else you can do. Isn't it ghastly hot during the summer there? And we found out the hard way that the prices go up after late December (and just keep on going up). If you want to do it in Florida, braving the hurricanes may just be part of the deal.

late spring early summer might work... prices drop i think after the snowbirds leave

Weather - Schweater

I must say for having attended my first Litogether, it was a blast and would soooooo be up for attending another. Just an FYI, since there are so many with families, August is usually not a good time to take off as you are typically just getting back to school or ready to. Hard to do this and keep little ears innocent. The laughter and joking was quite contagious.

Yeah it's quite warm...this past hurricane season wasn't bad at all! So was thinking maybe sometime in October????

I'm waiting for the next New York Lit-together :D

Now a Lit-together would be a good excuse for me to take a trip back up North, although during the school year it may be hard to get out of town.

On the other hand, one in central Florida would be convenient.

Well, would you be able to manage Mass or Upstate NY? That's where I've been contemplating putting one together for...I just know I really didn't like being in NY...well, except for the village, and even that felt overly pretentious to me...

I'm being lazy asking for the city, seeing as how it is a 50 minute drive from my house ;) .

I probably could make it upstate. I'm right on the New Jersey/New York border. It would be a weekend trip for me at the worst. And if anyone from the city is attending, we could carpool/caravan up there :D

I can make upstate. I can make a run to Mass easy, no special event needed.

Slyc has mentioned the possiblity of wanting to host one in Texas in October. If he does I may look at moving mine to there...I don't like to fly, but I love to travel and see different places. :D

*pouts* i wish i could come to a litogether in The States...i'd so come to a Florida one...and i know just who i'd bunk with too

OK, having just moved to Florida, i can say it's FRIGGIN HOT already! Lows at night are in the 60s, highs in the 80s. If you're planning on having one of these shindigs this direction, it needs to be about now or after it cools off for 'winter'.

My couple pence worth.

That's nice weather...but you have the humidity...here in Vegas, in the summer, highs in the 110's lows in the 90's...

Why not Orlando - This is Why

OK, posted to this thread earlier today. But absolutely broke out laughing when a friend in the UK sent this to me today:

MOTHER AND DAUGHTER BANNED FOR LIFE FROM DISNEYLAND

Knowing our Slyc, it might cause a few raised eyebrows (or other raised things)

Hmm . . . naughty thoughts concerning the Pirates of the Caribbean come to mind . . . .

I'm thinking that it doesn't matter when you have it, there will always be reasons not to. You just have to pick a date and go with it regardless of what is happeneing. We wouldn't be going for the weather, I woudl go to Florida or South Dakota to meet my friends here. If there are cool things to see and do hey, bonus. Clovis has 6 people in it, but I would love to have you all here. Just pick a time and let everything else happen.

Having known some college kids that interned at Disney, you'd never believe how much action Dorothy at the Great Movie ride in Disney's MGM got each Spring, Summer and Fall when the new crop came down.

Also until you've seen Cinderella sitting with her dress hiked up, wig off and smoking a ciggy, you haven't seen the seamy side of Disney.
