Lit-togethers...

Yeah, I actually live down here nowadays. Although I rarely go anywhere.

Was thinking about somewhere in Central Florida...or maybe toward the Tampa coast, I love the beach. :cathappy:

Unless we become independantly wealthy, I don't think we'd be able to get to Florida, but you never know...beach season down there and early spring up here might be nice...sure, it's chilly here that time of year, but all the more incentive to huddle together...cuddle for warmth, yeah, that's the ticket, for warmth!

I'd go to a Central Florida Lit-together.

I think I'd be up for that as well, but would need months of planning on my part 'cause I have to coordinate work and family and the wife's hobbies and finances and the obligation/duty I feel to help support the local gaming groups when they're having a convention and need people to judge mods. (If I'd known Raptorcon was going to be this past weekend before I'd made plans for the Litogether, I'd have had to pass on Chicago.)

When I was growing up and living in Albany, Ga, we used to go down to Fla now and then for special trips...usually just to Panama City or St Augustine. It'd be nice to visit the state again.

I'm awfully glad you were at Chicago, though.

You give the best hugs.

Maybe end of August...mid-September? That is a nice time of year for the beach. St. Augustine is BEAUTIFUL, I've been there a few times.

And I'm sorry I couldn't hang out with you guys yesterday. I didn't get that much time to talk with you, but you seemed very cool (and I loved the fire shirt :D ).

Isn't the retraining order what you give Kiten anytime you're on IM together? ;)

For anyone interested:

I'm looking at August 17-19, probably somewhere in central Florida since most would have to come in through Orlando International. There are quite a few nice places to stay that are within 20-25 minutes of the airport, and lots to do within walking distance if people want to go out.

Is 5 months warning enough time to plan?

No, that's what happens when we're together. The IMing requires quite a bit of the use of both hands on her part (although having her tie her legs apart...hmmm, that could work  ).

Just let me know if there's anything I can do to help, baby.

Well It's the last weekend before my students come back to class, so if I get enough done during pre-planning, I may be able to make it.

You'll be the one talking to hotels, since you're a better people person than I am.

The only problem I see, and it is a BIG problem, is that the time you propose is right in the prime hurricane season, kiten. I think that any lit together around that time would only suit Floridians as anyone else may be out money if a hurricane or tropical storm threatens.

Since it's always warm there, what about doing it in the Fall? I'm sure anyone travelling would be thrilled to have a vacation in a warm locale in addition to the great company. Plus all the hotels down there have outdoor pools...the possibilities boggle the mind.

Didn't we have a hurricane out of season this year? Or was that last year? The only thing to do would be move it up toward June/July (2/3 months planning:eek: )...or push it back till December/January...but then that is the holiday season...so that would probably push is back to Feb. or March of next year.

Florida=Hurricanes...Out west=Tornados...Up north=snow storms...gotta love mother nature. :rolleyes:

Feedback please...if you are thinking you may want to go. :D

Hurricane season runs from June-Nov 30.

Suggestions?

Thanks for pointing out the Hurricane season Misty  ...you'd never know I've been a Fl. resident my whole life

You're just so used to it you don't think of it...kinda like New England with the late March/early April snowstorms...

Dennis hit in early July '05, a very rare time for hurricanes although it was technically hurricane season. Autumn may not be the best time as that is usually when hurricanes hit.

How 'bout late spring or early summer? Too late for this year. But for the floridians any time should be OK.
