I knew that Lips! Lot's of great sayings and idioms come from the British iron and sail naval era.

We eat 3 square meals a day because the English navy served it's meals on square wooden plates.

That's just off the top of my head. Oh yeah, that's another one. Going to the head and getting head. Because it the bow, or head, of a sailing ship was about the only place one could get a bit of visual privacy.

Well xmas is really for kids but we've got quite a large house on 3 floors each room has had to be decorated ................pheeeeeew i am exhausted and its not all done yet.

Better your decorating than me (but I'm sure it looks real good) , The girls forced me to do a tree this year. I'm never here for this holiday!!! The daughter's callin me Grinch. Having to do the traveling (literaly) thousand mile thing, wether by car or plane just turns into a hassle , year after year.

BTW nice ballons,,,, Oh yeah the ones on the wall too.

Christmas is for everyone. The look on the kids faces when Santa comes. The look you share with that someone special. Good friends visiting. Old friends, friendships renewed. This year an added bonus, all the nice people here at Lit.

I only decorate the living room and dining room. That takes me a week.

Round here, stores are usually pretty much not too busy at all, NOW, Their packed. I just got in from fighting my way through 2 of em.
