No worries Kit, there are things that need time to understand and see the impact on your work.I worked at Intel for a little udner two years (partially as an intern). Microsoft was only about six months.
Yeah sorry, as you saw in my dm, maybe these are more for a software engineer, but for pm work or when discussing stuff with software developers, Ive not come across this. Sorry.
Anyway...
The hard truth is you firstly focus on to mastered your role and maybe parallel or little bit later you will/have to start to learn a little bit about what the others do like Software Engineers, Business Analysts and so on.
If you want to be a really good professional you need to learn how the industry - where you want to work - does work itself and what is the core business to see the big picture and what can be your contribution to the success of the project/company/client.
As you will getting more senior or realize the given problems you will be open for other areas so you will see the new dimensions and how they connect to each other or the dependencies among them.
