So .. basically, I like using my mouth and tongue on things. Here's the thing though: It looks really hot in porn, but I worry about shoe shine. It's one thing if it's latex or some such substance. But ... is shoe shine any kind of safe?

As a parent of an equestrian with som dermatitis issues, I have spent some time looking at safety data sheets on leather soaps and creams etc.
There is a huge range from products that I would worry less about than your regular type hand soap and hand cream, to those with rather serious warnings.

The good thing is that the safety data sheets are pretty accessible in our part of the world, so you can make informed decisions.

Anyways, if it were straight up grease, I might be less concerned. But shoe shine is .. I mean, in olden times, apparently, the black was from soot, or some such? I can't vouch for that, but someone told me once. But these days, it wouldn't surprise me if the black was from waste product from diesel production or the like. And if you want your black boots nice and shiny, you don't just grease them. That's good for wet weather, but less so for looks. Again, I think. Not an expert =)

Yes, I’m a great fan of the Kiwi Parade Gloss for black shoes and my father in law taught me to use old panty hose to shine with.
I’d worry about the pigments as you mention but also the solvent used. The more it is dried down the less worry, but it depends on how much licking you intend to do too.
