I think you're missing the point. We (I, at least) are expressing appreciation for those who choose to go natural, and not concern themselves with the conventional 'beauty' standards imposed by our culture.

As an artist (painter and photographer) in a visual sense, and a red-blooded male in a tactile sense, I love a good bush. But that's my preference. I probably gained an appreciation for a woman with a bush since as my mom was liberal and I'm a lifetime nudist, my mother, and my father, were very proud of her full bush.
I've known some women who've shaved because they thought that their partner wanted it, although several said that they hated the maintenance, the itching, the need to touch up before intimate times. (Wrong reason.) And I've known some woman who shaved because they loved the look, the feel of sex with no hair, and the reaction/attention they got as a result. (Right reason.) And of course, I've known those who like to be natural.
The key is that the woman should do what makes her feel good and not feel she has to do one or the other for the sole reason to please/keep her lover.
