Hats off to Rhode Island Senate:

The bills seek to raise the age to purchase firearms and ammunition to 21, from 18, while another bars people from open carrying rifles and shotguns. The Senate voted 31-5 on these measures, WLNE reported.

A more controversial measure, that limits magazine sizes in the state to just 10 rounds, more narrowly passed, but still cleared the chamber 21-11, according to the report.

The bills cleared the House Friday evening and will now head to Gov. Dan McKee’s desk, where they are expected to be signed.

Here in Texas, we have our great governor Greg Abbott to thank for all the violence. He passed open carry without a license. One way to cut down on the violence is to eliminate all gang members and all members of organized crime. Then ban all assault and assault style weapons.

Delaware lawmakers passed a series of bills late Thursday culminating in one of the most significant days for gun reform in recent Delaware history.

This package of bills – which included strengthening background checks, banning the sale of assault weapons and limiting high-capacity magazines – was introduced by Democrats earlier this month, after a series of mass shootings including the one in Uvalde, Texas, in which a gunman shot and killed 19 elementary school children and two teachers.

Sen. Dave Lawson, R-Marydel, who is a former gun shop owner and police officer, engaged in an extended debate over the ban on the sale of assault weapons. He asked pointed and technical questions of Democrats’ experts, and criticized various aspects of the bill.
“The road to hell is paved by good intentions,” Lawson said at one point.

“The road was paved,” Sen. Nicole Poore, the bill’s co-sponsor, immediately responded, “when that young man … killed 19 kids and left them unidentifiable.”

70-year old registered gun dealer charged with murder (3 dead) at church pot luck event, held without bond

Church members soon asked Smith to sit at a table, Reverend Carpenter said, according to AL.com. The alleged shooter declined the offer and identified himself as only Mr. Smith to Rainey before pulling out a handgun and shooting him and the other two victims.

According to the database, the warning letter was issued in February 2018. The letter said Smith had 86 firearms on hand, compared to 97 listed in his records. Smith “failed to the record the disposition” of multiple firearms, the letter said.

The letter also cited issues with Smith’s recordkeeping, saying that he “failed to record” necessary information like addresses and license numbers in records as required by law.
