Being fairly new to this board (yes I am still a virgin and damn proud of it I figured that I should find a way to introduce myself to all the regulars, and to even the Virgins that are just starting with me.

What better way to introduce myself then to pose a well thought out and intelligent question. I've cranked my brain, searched my mind, and when I finally noticed I wasn't getting anywhere something just popped into my mind!

Why is it that in the year 2000 going on 2001, are many of us still hiding not only our sexual preferences, but our desires, our dreams, our wants and our needs from everyone! Boards like this make it so much easier for those indviduals (including myself) that find it hard to express these things out of the confines of my bedroom (or backseat of my car

Literotica is helping each and everyone of us move closer and closer to all of those dream, fantasies and needs and wants we have always wanted....

I guess that wasn't really a question....Oh well, what can I do?

And yes I do agree with your sudo question, Lit and places like this allow us to explore sexuality in a safe and stimulating way. Growing up as I did (conservative fundimentalist in a bad bad way), I am continually amazed and pleasantly surprised the way others think of sexuality. Basically I've been here for 3 days and I have read and seen things that completely schocked me. What people thought, what they request, what they desire.....WOW is all I can say.

When I comapre them to some of my desires and what I want and feel like I need, I wonder if the world is turning upside down!

Lets think about it!

back in the 1900's did they fanasize about the things that are normal in today's society? Did they fantasize about things that happen each and every day; adultry, gay/lesbian sex, and so on?

100 years from now, are the things we think about going to be normal in that society? BDSM, Incest, and so on... are these things going to be going on without ever thinking that something is wrong with the people involved?

What will our great great grandchildren be shown? What will they be doing? And even scarier, what will they be fanatsizing?

Hello & welcome. This is a great board, lots of interesting people. I wonder about the future,as well. I think that some things will always be considered taboo-incest, rape, etc. I don't really consider BDSM to be abnormal, it isn't what I am into, but to each his own, as long as both partners are agreeable. I come to the board to "meet" new people & to escape from RL. I have been through a terrible year & this is an escape for me. I have also gotten some good tips & hints on different things. I can ask questions here that I wouldn't necessarily feel comfortable asking people in RL.

It may surprise you to know that you can look to HISTORY and not necessarily to the future to find that many "civilised" cultures practised incest and it was not a taboo. For instance the Pharohs of Egypt ALWAYS married their sisters.............and in the Old Testament, Abraham married his half sister Sarah............and God did not seem to mind. Most of the taboo aspect of insest came about AFTER, with the book of Leviticus, where God ordered the Israelites to not have sex with a relative closer than a cousin.........for quite obvious reasons.......with such a limited gene pool ALREADY descended from one man, things could have become quite whacky! Of course, the teaching continued to be spread to the non Jewish people of the world through Judeo/Christian teaching..........sex between close relatives is wrong! Even though the original reason (limited gene pool in the desert) is no longer relevant!

I actually have an extensive background in history. But in general,incest has not been widely accepted. Royalty has been exempt from socially acceptable behaviors, it is good to be the king, after all. Plus, if you accept the Bible as exactly right, just who did the sons of Adam & Eve marry anyway? Some of the early civilizations in Central & South American also practiced incest, but in the majority of societies both past & present, incest was not considered acceptable. A great deal of that is due to the Judeo-Christian teachings that have come down through time & I don't see it changing in the next 100 years.

I don't see how a somewhat arbitrary numbering system for the years would change society. What did you think? 1999 = Hatred, repression and ignorance. 2000 = Fuck Fests and Love-Ins?
I don't think this board has 'helped' my sexuality, it allows me a place to be myself. It's just another back alley I can use.
