Lessons learned from "Twilight"

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. My tween son likes the Artemis Fowl series, the Alex Rider series, and series written by . . . Haddix, first one was "Among the Hidden." He also tends to read Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and F. Paul Wilson. My tween daugher has read all the Twilights--and I read them first just because. I've been dragged to the movies too.

A lesson I learned from the last movie is that 17 year old boys are built much differently than they were when I was in high school.

Artemis Fowl kicks ass.

I'm a Twi-hard and even I think that's funny. I find the whole idea of a seventeen year old male who doesn't want to have sex fucking hilarious too.
But he's not even really seventeen, is he? I thought he was the typical vampire-age of some hundred years or other. (I obviously haven't read the books, but I got the gist of them, I think.)

Physically he's stuck at 17 years old even though he's like 100, so he would have to have the hormones to go with it and in the books they make a point of saying vamps are more highly sexed up than us. I've never met a 17 year old boy who didn't want sex constantly even without the rev up.

What little I know about vampires would fill a grain of salt but if you're dead that would kinda put the hormone thing to rest. No heart beat so no way for the hormones to flow or whatever.

That was always the thing I didn't understand...if there is no heart beat then there is no blood pressure hence no hardon. So it's limp wienie all the way.

The popular line of thought is that vamps have no refractory period-- they can keep hard until they don't want to be hard anymore.

It's a very popular line of thought...:cattail:

At no point did I claim this shit is logical. Meyer's even wimps out at one point and puts all the unexplainable stuff in the book down to magic.
